its a good game but u gotta admit that defusing bomb ♥♥♥♥ at the end had u fuming and turning red like u got pantsed in the middle of the lunch room

My father bought our first PC in 2009. About two months later, he bought me this game. I thought it was the coolest thing ever. However, neither me nor papa knew how to install it. We fiddled around for a good couple of hours and finally got it to install. I remember him telling me, "well it works somehow, don't mess it up. have fun." Me and my brother played this game for hours on end. Good times. I bought it on steam and it's still just as fun as it was back then. 10/10 recommended.

I played this on the ps2 back in the day, Amazing game. Honestly this game has aged well since then, Story was always great. Highly recommend.

Red Faction has a very similar feeling to Half Life when you play it. The levels all flow into each other, it experiments with some fun ideas that you can see flow into a lot of game that come after it, and a lot of the story is told through the environments. It's a lot of fun and has a pretty solid variety in weapons with no duplicates or direct upgrades to previous weapons. The other thing that is impressive, even today, is the destructible terrain. The earlier levels use this better than the later ones, but very few games do destruction like this even today. The story is just there to give you a reason for doing what your doing and has practically no depth, I do find how dim Parker, the main character, is very fun and the fact that every time another miner shows up the nearly instantly die. All in all a fun short shooter which executes what it sets out to incredibly well.

BACK IN YEAR 6 WHEN I WAS A LITTLE BOY, A FRIEND OF MINE WHO WAS AN AVID FAN OF RETRO FIRST-PERSON-SHOOTERS TOLD ME ABOUT RED FACTION; MORE SPECIFICALLY A PART IN THE GAME WHERE A FAT NAKED GUY RUNS UP TO YOU SCREAMING 'RED FACTION', I'VE BEEN SO INTRIGUED BY THIS EVER SINCE THEN THAT I FINALLY TOOK IT UPON MYSEFL TO PLAY THE GAME IN FULL. THROUGH THERE I HAVE BEEN MORBIDLY DISSAPOINTED IN THIS EXPERIENCE, THE ONLY PART WHERE ONE OF THE GUYS SCREAMS 'red faction' IS THE ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ PRISON SEGMENT AT THE LAST 10 MINUTES OF THE GAME. CALLING THIS A GAME IS HONESTLY QUITE GENEROUS, THIS IS GAME IS THE ACCUMILATION OF THE PAIN FROM THE VICTIMS OF GUANTANAMO BAY, MK ULTRA, ABU GHRAIB AND THE ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ HOLOCAUST COMBINED INTO A STREAM OF GAMEPLAY WHICH IS DESIGNED TO BUST YOUR ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ BALLS TO THE POINT WHERE YOU CAN'T EVEN CRY FOR MERCY ANYMORE. MOST OF THIS GAME FEELS LIKE THEY EITHER WANTED TO BE HALF LIFE OR HALO, BOTH OF WHICH ARE GOOD GAMES IN THEIR OWN RIGHT BUT TRYING TO COMBINE TWO VASTLY DIFFERENT LINEAR FPS EXPERIENCES INTO ONE GAME IS JUST UTTER BOLLOCKS.
