Grim Nights

Warning: Spoilers ahead. The game is fun! - I bought this game a long time ago during a sale. It's phenomenal! - Worth buying(full price is fine) if you like 2D pixel-art strategy games. Just started playing—5 hours in and I want more. I'm just making some coffee and... This is the beginner level, and I've already lost 5 times—kill me now, I love losing in games like this XDDD - Simple, compact, and made by a genuine creator (I really like the "please read" menu)—it feels authentic. - Controls are a bit tricky at first, but you quickly get a feel for them. - The economy is simple and user-friendly, though it does require logistics management. - Population—I really love this aspect: you literally have to shuffle villagers around for perks (I hope the game buffs the tomb or castle every time I kill a villager, lol). - Events and utility features—like the merchant and interactive map elements. - Mining is perhaps a bit too easy (you don't need to build separate ladders to connect floors). - Combat system—cool tower defense mechanics. It's a fine, pixelated game with a balance of resource mining and defending nightly waves. I purchased it for under $4 and it has provided some nice moments.

This is a good game, aside from some rather obvious mistakes that are punished by you essentially losing without actually ending a game, and is by far the most polished game by EDYM Pixels I have played. While I do prefer the sequel they are such different games that each is nigh incomparable to the other, and both are excellent games.
