Warhammer Age of Sigmar: Realms of Ruin

well i bought this game on sale 3 years after release. sadly its not good at all. i really wanted to like this game but the optimization and performance is so bad that its almost unplayable. i dont normally leave reviews with not even an hour of play time. but its just not happening i changed all the settings i could to get it to run better. its just a game someone abandoned and it dont look like its gonna get fixed. sad day story: 4.3 wasent able to get far beat the 1st chapter 40% already quit the game by then mechanics: 6 could be difficult for some gameplay: 3.5 looks fun but couldent do much music: 5 cinematics: 5 replayability: 2.5 could have some if it wasent so bad cost: 1 maybe if you could get for 5$ its worth, maybe scenery: 3.7 looked bland overall: 3.9/10 ya this game just isnt gonna happen

Game is OK, but fairly dead as far as mulitplayer servers go. Game was (at least it seems) pretty much abandoned by the developers, as well, yet to my knowledge there is no modding community, at least here on Steam. $60 US is WAY too much to be asking for this game, let alone the $75 Ultimate Edition. Get it on sale, or you wasted your money. I have the ULTIMATE EDITION but tbh, it doesn't feel "ultimate". Customization is minimal, Difficulty is ridiculously unbalanced even set on the easiest mode, and unless you have some friends via Discord, you aren't going to be playing any 1v1, 2v2, or multtiplayer games any time soon. I really tried to like this game, graphically it is beautiful especially in the cut-scenes.... That being said, it's pretty much ALL that is redeeming. AoS in and of itself isn't as bad as people tried to make it out to be, story plotline isn't bad....but the gameplay itself is unforgiving, and it has been dead in the water for a couple years now at the very least. Honestly, I enjoyed it. I think a big part of the negativity is justifying the price because there's no reason why the game should've been priced at $60, and I agree with that, it should've been $40 at the most. That being said, and separating its nonsensical pricing, there's a solid RTS game with a good foundation here as well as amazing graphics, cutscenes, voice actors, models, texturers, and a semi-compelling story which is more than I can say for a lot of games. Is it basic and lack complexity? Yeah, and although I would've preferred some depth, basic isn't always bad, but unless its able to tide you over for any particular reason (in my case it was my first introduction to Age of Sigmar, so I stayed interested), then you might get bored of it pretty quickly. Ultimately, not a bad game, just be aware of what you're getting. Definitely recommend it if its on sale, you like Warhammer, or you like an RTS game.
