Out of Reach

I don't think I've ever posted a negative review to a game except this one. Do not buy it. It's completely dead, as far as I can tell, devs basically abandoned it years ago and what's left doesn't even function well. The "single player" option is a joke, it still runs as if you're on a public server (inability to pause properly, timers for "logging out," etc.) and once you start a "local server," as far as I can tell, you're locked into it, no restarting. You get one chance to customize your character and then you're stuck with them forever. Customization is buggy too, ended up with a hairstyle that I didn't choose, and have yet to find any way to reset their appearance despite even digging into the game files themselves. Animations and gameplay seem extremely janky and unintuitive. UI is atrociously ugly and hard to parse. The building options seem like they could be really cool in a better-designed game. From what I can tell the devs abandoned this game to try to create a battle royale version of it which has also been abandoned. Absolutely trash. It doesn't look even remotely close to the advertise.

Was amazed to find there are still TONS of impressive player builds still standing on the PVE servers! That's the main reason I'm recommending this...but only if you get it on deep discount. It's a great internet tourist destination (at least as of the last time I played). That and for the rare player encounters on PVP which can be both surprising and fun. Otherwise it is a bit jank and unfinished in ways that should have been updated ...but of course it's not receiving any new updates anymore so what you see is what you're gonna get.

A Bit difficult but great game.

Picked it up for just under $2. Had a lot more fun on it than I anticipated. Its not a perfect experience, and there were some bugs like my bronze axe canabalizing other items in my inventory (itself included). But otherwise, I managed to have a decent bit of fun building and exploring. I played on a standard difficulty server but with 200% resource drop rate and there was still a solid 8-10hours of content to work through.
