Wacky lil indie with trippy experiences and fun lil puzzles. Nice music too. But be warned, the game won't run above 720p. It kinda adds to the aesthetic the game is going for tho.

Small Radios Big Televisions is a simple hidden-object and puzzle game that makes for a fairly relaxing experience due to its low-pressure gameplay. Much of the game revolves around exploring environments, collecting tapes, and distorting them to reveal different versions of various scenes. Unfortunately, the controls could be frustrating at times. Some clickable areas felt slightly off, leading to accidental interactions, and certain actions, such as spinning wheels with a mouse, didn't always work smoothly. While I enjoyed the simplicity of the game, I never fully understood what the story was trying to convey. By the end, I was left wishing there was a bit more meaning behind the experience and a stronger narrative to tie everything together. If you're looking for something simple and easygoing, this could be a good choice. If you're hoping for a more memorable story or a deeper message, you may want to look elsewhere.
Quick Verdict
👍 A short and atmospheric puzzle experience that is enjoyable but a bit repetitive and occasionally frustrating to control, best picked up on sale.
Score Breakdown

🎮 Gameplay — 3/5
Simple puzzles that are easy to solve and work well for a short experience, but some mechanics feel clunky and can get frustrating, especially with camera control and gear interactions.
📖 Story & Narrative — 2.5/5
There is a light narrative with some narration, but it does not add much and feels secondary to the gameplay.
🎨 Visuals — 4/5
A simple but effective art style that fits the game well and supports its slightly psychedelic atmosphere.
🔊 Audio — 3/5
Music fits the atmosphere but becomes repetitive over time. Voice work is minimal but does its job.
⚙️ Technical Performance — 2.5/5
No major issues, but controls can be unreliable. Camera movement and some puzzle interactions feel inconsistent and frustrating.
Game Profile

⏱️ Length
Short (about 1.5 to 2 hours)
🎯 Difficulty
Easy, with occasional frustration due to controls rather than puzzle design
🔁 Replayability
Low, little…

Like someone stated in a guide... an acid trip of a game, but interesting enough, and relatively easy 100% achievos, downside is you may feel a bit nauseous playing it, it happens sometimes to me in some games, this was one of those, but props for making it, I felt proud getting the puzzles done on my own without checking any guide, a couple of them were a bit tough, had to thonk a bit.

The least interesting thing I've played in a very long time.

Whether or not you are going to enjoy this game / experience will have a lot to do, I think, with whether or not you enjoy the aesthetic. The core gameplay is not complex - 95% of the game is find-the-object, with a very small amount of puzzle in the form of either (a) manipulating collectibles to open new point-and-click locations, or (b) solving simple orient-the-object puzzles to... open new point-and-click locations. What turns this game into a piece of art, and in fact one of my very favorite 'game' experiences, is the combination of graphics, music, and setting. I have to start with the music - it is phenomenal. Go get the OST - it's worth every penny. The fourth track, "Triangle," is transcendent. It will trigger a nostalgia for a time that never quite was, but that should have been. At multiple points in the game, I though to myself: would this work, would it be enjoyable, without the music? It's no surprise, then, that the same guy designed the game and wrote the music - they go hand in hand. The graphics extend the feeling of nostalgia - this is a low-poly world, projected through a CRT screen. Again, though, it plays on a nostalgia for a version of the 80s …
