ChromaGun

I have positive things to say about ChromaGun, but they are outweighed by the negative. I am a huge fan of these test-chamber, Portal-like games; however, this game lacks the creativity and polish that I expect. ChromaGun is obviously inspired by games like Portal, but it lacks the wit and care those titles possess. Test chambers are not satisfying to solve, and at times, hazards are inserted that don't serve the puzzle, they just slow the player down while solving what would otherwise be a simple room. New mechanics are introduced haphazardly and don't really build on each other. Having said that, this game isn't completely lacking in merit. Occasionally, test chambers are clever and satisfying to solve. The narration, while obviously derivative of Portal’s GLaDOS and Cave Johnson, was amusing in places. Overall, I cannot recommend this game. If you're addicted to games like this, what I like to call 'puzzle-slop,' you might find that it's good enough.

This Game was fun. The Puzzle Gimmick where you move Things around by attaching them to the walls and combining different colors was interesting.

Decent puzzler with Portal vibes. There were a few puzzles that I found frustrating because of time limitations, but I just resigned myself to knowing that I would have to play through more than one time while getting a bit further before each death.

For as fast as I blew through the puzzles in this, they did make me have to stop and think a way through, often requiring trial, error, and calculated risks. While I love these types of games, if you don't like games that make you restart a level about 15 times to get anywhere, this is not for you. That said, for both of the "boss levels" I had to look up a walkthrough because there was absolutely no indication in the first one of what to do when you have to flip a U-turn, and the only allowing a minute for the puzzle to be solved in the other very much sets the player up for failure because there's barely any time to assess the situation, let alone solve it. Even an extra 20, 30 seconds would've made a world of difference for the very last level, and it was unclear when it was over if there was more content or if it was just an 'ending area' instead of an end screen.
