"Chroma" is one of literally thousands of student projects infesting Steam. It's from ESMA - Ecoles Creatives. While student projects tend to be better quality than most "amateur" made games, we must still question what value such projects have for gamers. As with all student projects, this isn't really a fully fleshed out game, it's just the result of an academic exercise, and as such it has much more limited value as a game than a professionally developed game would have. Educational institutions should not be using Steam as a dumping ground for homework assignments (especially if the students didn't even pass the course). Sure, it helps their marketing and helps the students feel good about themselves, but this is another case of a business putting themselves before the needs of gamers. The students made an art-heavy narrative platformer about an artist bringing colour to a colourless world... and while the students nailed the visuals fairly well, like all student projects this is short, lacks polish, and is filled with game breaking bugs that will never be fixed. The students got their grades and walked away. See why student projects are such a problem? The graphics in…

Not bad at all. As far as gameplay goes, it's all good here, it's smooth, and the jumping is good. You have a short-ranged "paint" projectile, and it works well enough. My issue with the ranged "attack" is that the devs seemed to have put in more things to interact with than was necessary, but that is probably due to the fact there are no enemies, to pad the gameplay a little bit. It got a tad tedious after a while. As for the story... I feel very neutral about it. I know that somone was trying to tell an emotional story here, and at times I could *almost* feel the game tugging on the old heartstrings... but it never quite got there. This is a pretty good, free, 3D platformer with relatively low difficulty, and a playthrough will only take you 40-60 minutes, so if that's what you're looking for, check this game out.

Cute little game. It's free. There's some issues but I was able to play it from start to finish with no crashes in about 1 hour.

I love this game its absolutely brilliant. I love the concept of at all and the story was lovely. Anxiety is HARD. The art style and music was just magical. One thing i will say is the mechanics could be a little tighter and knowing what surface i can stand on and what is slippy would be helpful to know. Aside from that i really loved this game and cant wait to see more from the devs. Did i mention it's free?
