I want to be able to recommend this game - I really do. We live at a time where loving and learning about bugs is so important and good, fun, science-based games are so necessary. There just aren't enough games that teach people (especially kids!) about bugs and their ecosystems and life cycles, and in that vein, I have nothing but good things to say about the models and animations. The lifecycles themselves are accurate and well presented. I like the challenges which teach you about the different dynamics the animals have with each other, such as how the diets of the predators change as they mature. But... And these are big buts. I have played through the survival levels for all of the females of the major bugs now and there are big problems holding this game back from being really, really good at what it does. * The controls are clunky. Not just a little clunky - REALLY clunky. There's no 'getting good' at this game, because the rules on certain mechanics (e.g., jump distances and angles on the jumping spider) are unclear or non-existent. What works one time won't work the next time. This makes certain challenges, like the jumper obstacle course, way, way harder than they s…

consider this a mixed review more than a negative one The controls are very janky, and it's very disorienting. I found the game to be very grindy, and one of the few times where I was engaged with the game was when I was hunting as a dragonfly or racing as a butterfly. this game should've been listed as 18+ the moment it added bug sex

I like it for the 80% off deal i got it, however the major factor of me not enjoying it as much as i could/should is the motion sickness. I don't usually ever get motion sickness playing games, however this game is ROUGH when it comes to it. The cause of the motion sickness is how the camera snaps when you move around, especially on things like vines. If it wasn't as intense of a snap where it feels like i am also fighting the camera, it would be so much more enjoyable of a game, however just thinking about playing is causing me motion sickness. I hope there's a way to make it so the camera doesn't snap as strongly, or at all. It could just be more enjoyable if i had full control of the thee view without any of the snapping, and the snapping be saved for first person as the bug.
