Krampus Quest

Controls are absolutely atrocious. The game is buggy and doesn't always respond in the way you'd expect it to (e.g. hook jumps feel awkward and wrong). Projectiles, hooks, jumping and just about everything else is sluggish. Restarting the level (or game?) after running out of lives isn't great when at least half of it comes from issues with controls, unavoidable damage, or bugs. It's largely fine on paper, but the issues in execution hold it back significantly. Could be a great short game if these issues were resolved. Octodad metroidvanias aren't fun.

First of all, this game need controller / gamepad support ASAP. Other that that, I have next to no complaints. Krampus Quest is fair, controls well, and an excellent throwback to some of the best SNES / PS1 era platformers. C- without controller A- with controller

I purchased this on a whim to do a Christmas gaming video on it, but was pleasantly surprised to find a competent Castlevania clone that played well. The only real detriment to this game is the lack of controller support and some other minor issues. But otherwise, anyone looking for a game with a classic Castlevania sensibility with a generous portion of upgradeable abilities should be satisfied with this. For the developers, if you guys will add in controller support, autosaving and go back and fix a few typos, then this will be the perfect holiday title. Cheers!

Pass until issues are fixed. The game is obviously close to castlevania. The experience I had when playing the game was...ok. It wasn't a great experience even with the issues I'll talk about but it wasn't a horrible one either. In fairness I've only played about 15 minutes so I couldn't get deep enough into the game to say how good it could be. The biggest issues I encountered have to do with the really slow combat. Pressing the button to throw the whip takes a second for the game to respond. Another issue is how slowly the enemies react when getting hit. It feels like those issues go hand in hand but it gets so difficult to play through that I decided to stop playing and uninstall it. I would come back to it if those issues are fixed and give it another try.

i like it but i think the controls should be better, other than that the game is great
