All Quiet in the Trenches

Great World War 1 sqaud management game. I'm excited to see how it develops further.

fun game but the objectives are pretty much just suggestions, i get the deal is you cant always do everything right but a lot of the time it doesnt matter how well you perform, + the surrendering system is AWFUL

Tried it out for an hour and a half and though the idea is nice and everything the combat is just so underwhelming and frustrating. Despite orders the soldiers are not firing or doing anything most of the time, it all feels heavily scripted and choices have little consequences. And I wanted to enjoy it as I like very much the setting and the systems but I can't care for the soldiers if the climax of the game is just this uneventful slog with no fireshot but a lot of ammunition spent... I might try later in development to come back to it but the devs need to implement "fun" stuff for the player I think. Management of scarce ressources and tough choices are hightened when you get some sort of rewards or bad consequences from time to time and I would enjoy a game between rest at camp and action if... there was a little action.

I really likes it so far. Felt good to play, and was overall fun. It manages to make the managment sections in the trenches and the camp just as interesting as active battle. When the game is finished, i hope theyll add more depth to the villagers and field hospital, as those dont really have to big of an impact on the rest of the game. Also just to note that i didn't actually finish it. I kept getting demoted, and i do think that gaining prestige is a bit to hard, as you can lose about 10 days worth of it by not working a single day. Also they really need more random dialoge, as its akward seeing three men say the same thing in a row, and quite immersion breaking. But overall, fun good game.
