Small Town Terrors: Pilgrim's Hook Collector's Edition

Despite running over 800 FPS, the movement feels like I'm running at 5 FPS.

Sub-par HOG for me. The story is terrible, The music is barely there. Graphics are kind of simple and ugly. You play this stuff to be see the beautiful comic book-like scenery. Dialogue and voice acting is meh. Barely any cutscenes. The actual HO scenes were terrible. Super easy and a lot of them had stuff like find 5 frogs, 5 spiders and 5 mushrooms instead of the full stack, WTF? And the achievements are in-game only and not available on Steam for some reason The only positive for me is that there's a lot of stuff to do and things move quite nicely.

I really enjoyed this game. It reminded me of a mix between a Stephen King novel and Lovecraft, that's the vibe I got from the game. I really liked the unsettling small town horror mood that reigns throughout the game. Fun story. Puzzles are pretty nice, but they can get clunky at times, and probably could have used a bit of a smoother mechanic that I found on one or two, but most were good. I really recommend this to anyone into a horror based Lovecraft style HOPA with a bit of King thrown in. I will say the bonus game isn't that great, and honestly doesn't add much to the game and can be skipped in all honesty. But all in all solid game!

I really enjoyed this one! It is a perfect balance of story, dialogue and different puzzles. It has a lot of content and clever solutions without being "moon logic" as many of these games can be. Tricky in places but never impossible. A great hint system, along with the fast travel possibility and journal. Highly recommend if you enjoy these type of games!
