No, definitely not. Pros .Spooky atmosphere .Marvelous setting .Complimenting sounds .Clear artwork/graphics/scenes .Three difficulty modes (no custom) .Mini-map with fast travel .Lockable toolbar .Collectables (hearts) .Strategy guide .Bonus chapter Cons .Story lacked both an explanation and a true resolution .Music would occasionally just disappear .Voice acting/acting from everyone but the tour guide was awful .Cursor indications weren't always accurate .Adventure play is mainly simplistic (solution in room or one to two rooms over) .Hidden object scenes are very easy (I got all three under a minute trophies when normally I might get one) .Hidden object scenes are reused (making them even easier) .Majority of mini-puzzles are very easy .Several of the mini-puzzles lacked adequate instructions .No indication when objects in correct position for possible use .Short Final words (4/10): Loved the set-up, setting and atmosphere. Started out really enjoying it. So what if it was simplistic and the acting was hilariously bad, it was fun! Then the issues started piling up and the fun stopped. Examples of specific issues: No cursor change or top bar instruction for a clearly brok…

Game-breaking glitch in the first chapter. If you pick up the item next to the sheet music before picking up the sheet music, you no longer have the option to grab it, which means you can't get past the puzzle that requires you to put the music into a machine. The in game hints will even tell you to click on it, but you won't be able to.

So this game was a pleasant surprise. The combination of a green screen effect for live action mixed with the point and click style games such as 'Riven' add to the charm of this game. If you like adventure puzzle games and creepy atmosphere this game is for you. Both my friend and I Adore this game and recommend playing it in a dark room just in time for Halloween! Really corny game - corny in a good way! Leaves you smiling after every cutscene. I'm usually overly critical when it comes to HOGs (hidden object games) but I think that is often a side-effect of playing too many HOGs one after another. I don't recommend that! This time I came into a hidden objectifier after a long absence, and I feel it makes a big difference to my enjoyment factor. With this game though, HA! The usual formula with a hidden object is basically playing a hero in a fantastical setting, with a whole lot of puzzle solving and searching of items thrown in for fun gameplay. Interspersed within, you'd find horribly D-grade animations and cardboard cutouts doing knee-jerk movements to try to convince you that their pixels have a soul. Not so with this game! Here, we have actual actors cut in! They are super corny - sometimes running really hard but not moving very far on-screen, but almost always entertaining with over-acting, with such lines as you might be able to guess at before they've even said it. I looked forward to each and every one! Gameplay predominantly consists of finding objects in each room of the house, and figuring out how to use them. Th…

Yeahhh... this one is ... pretty bad. I'm used to SOME of the quirks of HOGs, but when you have things like pliers being used to cut chains, people's voice acting so horrible that you think you're playing an anime game and game-breaking bug after game-breaking bug (like the missing sheet music in the study with the guy asking for his meds, if you didn't pick it up before you took the notebook, you can never progress because the area isn't interactable afterwards)... yeah, I'd skip this one.
