Syndrome

I do not recommend this game. Backtracking game design built within maze like levels, I couldn't imagine playing this on an HDD having to load back and forth through levels. One hit kill enemy that ruins momentum if you don't save at every save point as you pass them. Enemies scramble and fuzz your vision when they hit you. Flashlight has batteries rendering you just playing in the dark most of the game. You can open only various types of lockers that rarely have anything in them. Two moments in the game you are required to open a box and flip valves (during a boss fight) that you are never told you could interact with the whole game and as far as I could tell the only times these interactions are available leaving to annoyance and time wasted. I did not have fun.

Tense sci-fi horror with great atmosphere.

Not going to replace Alien Isolation or Dead Space, and the story leans hard on familiar “wake up on a dead spaceship” tropes with some rough edges and trial-and-error sections. Worth it if you’re already into sci-fi survival horror and don’t mind a few rough spots for a pretty solid ride.
