Sadly the reason for which I got it for turns out to be a dud. The AI isn't good, In fact it's terrible. Like CIV etc. it just SPAMS units, it doesn't counter you, it doesn't ever surprise you. Toddler level AI. The mechanics and support are good tho. Just sucks for single player. Edit: Well even tho the AI sucks, it's still too much fun. I am playing Europe 43 with 200% income to AI and I am still winning - but it is actually fun.

had a lot of fun with the large eto scenario but i have two questions. where is the kiel canaL? who taught the a.i. to operate capital ships in the english channel and the med without any support against land based air? it's a slaughter in both places. the only place for carriers in this scenario is the north atlantic,

Here is my review after playing several hours the game just takes to long is way to large in scope to play and enjoy playing a campaign would take month's which I try to play in a single day . If these were scaled down it would be enjoyable . for me More isn't better its just longer games .

Hex of Steel is an absolute gem. I’ve been playing it for about **two hours**, and my first impression is already fantastic. But what deserves special praise is the business model: There are NO DLCs. You get the content All of it. No endless stream of paid expansions. No artificially locked content. No constant attempts to squeeze more money out of the player. And honestly, considering everything this game offers, **the price feels incredibly low for the amount of value you get**. Awesome content. Scratches that itch between huge micromanagement games like HOI or Eastern Front 2 and games like Strategic command. Amazing value for the price and very immersive and beautifully rendered.
