I really want to like this game, but the items & weapons wheel UI thing just kills the game for me. Even the lack of rebinding controller buttons makes me not enjoy the game as much as I want to. If these things can get resolved I'd be more willing to play more of the game. But even on keyboard and mouse the item/weapons wheel interaction just ruins the exp for me. I've even tired using Steam's controller support to resolve this myself but anytime I try the game tries to read both the controller and Steam's controller input support at the same time making even that impossible to do. Game seems fun but I can't get past how these were implemented into the game.

The game's opening levels are very deceptive and maybe even misleading. The escalation of encounters is pretty intense. For a while, you'll be exploring smaller levels with some basic enemies. But eventually, you'll be battling massive hordes while juggling all your spells and buffs. It can actually be a lot. A great variety of weapons, spells, and items provide you with a huge arsenal. Lots of enemy varieties. Lots of level variety. This is a very well rounded game with lots to unlock and plenty of secrets. The art is fantastic. Really crisp, colorful, consistent throughout. Readable and enjoyable from start to finish. The music is really refreshing. It's not synth tunes or retro style at all. It's a big orchestral powerhouse. It's amazing. I was very disappointed with the final boss. I beat it on my first try and found it very easy. After the last few levels and their fairly tough gauntlets, I really expected more. But...that's a fairly minor complaint. Everything leading up to that is top notch. I imagine secret hunters and completionists will get a lot of value out of Wizordum.

This is an insanely fun retro fps. It's a joy to play from beginning to end, with an epic soundtrack. Nothing too fancy and no attempt is made to reinvent the fps, but judged on pure fun it's an enthusiastic recommend.

Just finished the endboss with 1hp left. Game was good fun and the style is really nicely done. Killer soundtrack as well.

the best looking game i've ever played (to me) would recommend playing on higher difficulty, the game gives you a lot of cool tools you don't really need on lower difficulties. finding all the secrets is not for the faint of heart
