About PANELKI

✦ AI summary

PANELKI is a Siberian city maintenance simulator where you take on odd jobs as a utility worker—digging snow, replacing lightbulbs, and photographing buildings—to earn money for a one-way ticket out of your bleak hometown. Its standout charm lies in procedurally generated panel apartment buildings with unique interiors, dynamic weather that forces you to manage your character's temperature, and a contemplative photo mode that transforms the harsh urban landscape into something oddly beautiful.

A utility worker earns for a ticket to leave the endless Siberian city of panel houses. Permafrost, day/night cycle, dynamic weather and open world. Feel the atmosphere of the northern city, having been in the role of a handyman. Now with multiplayer!

✦ AI summary

PANELKI is a meditative maintenance simulator that effectively captures the bleak, nostalgic atmosphere of post-Soviet apartment complexes through its visuals and setting, with players particularly praising its melancholic aesthetic and relaxing gameplay loop of snow shoveling and maintenance tasks. Common criticisms include the repetitive nature of the work, lack of substantial content beyond core tasks, and the inability to earn achievements in co-op mode, which limits long-term engagement for some players.

A simulator where you play as a municipal maintenance worker in a post-Soviet city. The concept is interesting; the scenery evokes memories of childhood winters and perfectly captures the atmosphere typical of such towns—bleak views, gloom, and a sense of hopelessness, yet also nostalgia. Nostalgia is a universal human trait; regardless of where you were born, lived, or are now, there are always positive memories. The game could use better sound quality, though the visuals are acceptable. Considering it’s an indie title, there are few bugs, and none are game-breaking. A major downside is that achievements cannot be earned in co-op mode. Why does that matter? Because there is nothing else to do in the game—it’s empty. Aside from shoveling snow and changing lightbulbs in stairwells, there is no real gameplay. While grinding for achievements in solo mode, I realized out of sheer boredom that it’s a bad game. It needs changes to how achievements work in co-op and the addition of character progression—such as leveling up or stat upgrades—and the ability to start your own organization and hire staff. There are so many potential avenues for development, but no patches are being released; …

Peak Doomer Melancholy. 10/10 masterwork of pure atmosphere. Your parents told you you'd end up as a janitor if you didn't study, but nobody told you it would feel this peaceful. PANELKI is not a "game" in the traditional sense; it is a transcendent experience of shoveling snow in an infinite, frozen Siberian housing complex while questioning your life choices. The Ultimate Vibe: Just you, the howling winter wind, dynamic blizzards, and thousands of identical concrete panel buildings. The sheer, overwhelming liminal loneliness is unmatched. Deeply Rewarding Gameplay: Screw lightbulbs back into dingy stairwells. Shovel snowdrifts off roofs. Wash graffiti off gray concrete. Save up your hard-earned rubles so you can finally buy a bus ticket and escape this endless brutalist purgatory. Surprising Survival Depth: Manage your body heat so you don't freeze to death in a blizzard while hunting for intercom keys or a bigger shovel in dark basements. Masterpiece Soundtrack: Minimalist, forlorn, and deeply comforting. Pair it with real-world winter weather outside your window for a 100% immersion boost. If you want fast-paced action, go away. If you want to sit in a quiet room, stare o…

Very modest game set in nights of snowy Siberia. There's plenty to do so kick back and enjoy tidying up the complexes for some extra money. Stay warm.
