Not recommended full price, needs vast reduction (which I got at) If you like Lovecraft or Bloodborne aesthetic and the Vampire Survivor style games then you'll enjoy this, but that's where it'll end. > Did I enjoy - yes. But the characters are all the same, with mildly worse stats and cosmetic, no other features or specials. Some weapons require specific power ups to be useable (longbow with multidirectional fire) or become worse with power ups (repeating rifle with knockback levelled up, the distance the shot firsts from yourself allows enemies close and then knocks them and cling to you for large damage). The Madness/ Level difficulty was interesting until ~10, and then became very boring. 15-20 was exactly the same feelings, with the bosses being practically 3 shot and I hadn't fully levelled up my skills trees. I tried giving this game a chance a few times and found it completely boring due to the survival mechanics; if, like me, you only enjoy action-oriented roguelikes, I definitely wouldn't recommend it.

Got the game on sale, and for the price it is alright at best. In this survivors-like you manage multiple different resources in addition to health; stamina, sanity, warmth and oil (fuel.) You light campfires that dwindle over time to manage your sanity and warmth, scavenge for resources and of course defend yourself against waves of lovecraftian horrors. The only interesting feature that sets it apart from some other titles of the genre is the 'Old Ones'. You can acquire powerful abilities that use sanity as a resource, channeling the power of the 'Old Ones' to aide you in battle, the tradeoff being stronger enemies with higher spawn rates the lower your sanity falls. Other than that it doesn't really have much to offer. You fight through three nights with multiple waves of enemies each and a boss at the end, but the stages stay the same. You unlock higher difficulty tiers one by one, but the only thing changing is the numerical stats of the enemies. The different unlockable characters are pointless, as you start with the arguably strongest one from the beginning, and they don't offer anything beyond minor stat variation and change in appearance either way. I've only played for three hours as of yet and I can already tell you it's a banger game finally a roguelite that doesn't scratch my @$$ for me, but also doesn't make me want to chew the screen off

bought it on a deal i think. neat little game, but replayability is very poor. play it once and that's most of the experience. replaying as a different character and weapons doesn't feel different. Sure for a few bucks is fine. the feeling and reward isn't there.
