Spiritus Vindicta understands that good horror comes from tension and uncertainty. The investigation mechanics using tools like thermometers and music boxes make ghost hunting feel engaging instead of repetitive. The 2D presentation works well in taking the Phasmophobia game loop and turning it into a single player experience. A very solid indie horror. A 2D ghost hunting/exorcism game with great music, made almost entirely by 1 person! An interesting mechanic is to use tools to quickly identify evidence, or you can take some extra time and risk to collect clues to identify the evidence. Each evidence requires a ritual and drops a small reward. There's a bit of a grind for xp to unlock levels/tools/maps, but each game doesn't take very long, and can be made faster by bringing tools and getting lucky that your tool will be needed. If your tool doesn't get used, there's not much of a loss since you'll make the money back if you complete the exorcism. Definitely hours of fun!

It is entirely single player, unlike other games in the same genre, and it does a very good job at balancing the difficulty of when you unlock new content as you gain experience in the game. It has great pacing, unlocking more difficult ghost types, levels, types of evidence, and rituals as you progress through the game. The more difficult a ghost is to exorcise the more experience you'll gain, allowing you to progress to the next level more quickly. Or if you so choose you can exorcise many weaker ghosts to progress, though this will take much longer.
