About Barrett Foster : Chapter One
Particules Studio presents Barrett Foster, a realistic and immersive puzzle game in which you play as the famous inspector to solve a dramatic personal investigation: The disappearance of his close friends, Emma and Gabriel, in murky circumstances.
The starting point of this adventure is a phone call received from Emma and informing Barrett Foster that they must leave their home urgently for a matter of life !
In the continuity of the Prologue* (available for free on this platform), you resume the investigation after it has taken a dramatic turn. Indeed, in this chapter 1, the inspector wakes up with a headache, in a small closed room and on the 60th floor of a skyscraper!
"What's happening ?“ A vague memory comes back to him:” I discovered information on the disappearance of Emma and Gabriel at their home then 2 colossi fell on me from behind… I should have expected it… Here I am locked up I don't know where! »
It is no longer a question of only solving the investigation... You will have to find a way to escape and it will not be an easy task... You will once again have to put yourself in the shoes of a real inspector by exploring your environment while paying attention to every detail to hope to escape from this building!
Barrett Foster – Chapter 1 will take you on a journey through time, history and culture! Beyond your personal knowledge, you will undoubtedly have to call on outside help (research, friends, etc.) to hope to reach the end of a fascinating chapter!

A walking sim/locked in a room game where inexperience and inconsistencies are obvious. Because it appears unfinished, an early access tag would be more suitable. The characters in the introduction are stiff, and they’re either just standing or using basic movements. You also don't get anything that will entice you to dive into the story. You're simply some kidnapped person who wakes up and needs to get away. On the other hand, we play these games because we are intrigued by the mystery and know knowing what is going on. While the voice over is only available in French and cannot be changed, the game can be played in either English or German. Surprisingly, the German language does not work. Everything in the game, including the menu, is still in English. Perhaps this only works with subtitles, which I haven't tried because the default doesn't work well. The problem is that subtitles display both English and French subtitles simultaneously. Because you're merely going around and interacting with stuff, the controls are simple. Given that the engine is designed for first-person shooters, you can also jump, run, and crouch. However, the controls have a weird default setting. Even …7 found this helpful
I recently had the opportunity to experience Barrett Foster - Chapter One, and I must say that this puzzle game exceeded all my expectations. From the very beginning, I was captivated by the beautifully designed environments that traced history through time, from the era of the Mayans to the Renaissance, and through Asia and Egypt. It felt like traveling through time while solving complex puzzles. One of the things that impressed me the most was the visual quality of the game. The graphics were breathtaking, with meticulous details and landscapes that transported me to each era. I was impressed by how they were linked to each time period and how they contributed to the overall story of the game. Each puzzle required strategic and logical thinking, as well as an understanding of the culture and customs of the time. This added an educational dimension to the experience, which was truly enriching. Furthermore, I found the story of the game to be well-crafted and immersive. Each era was presented with care, featuring environments such as paintings or sculptures that added depth to the adventure. I enjoyed how the story unfolded as I progressed through the puzzles, giving me addition…2 found this helpful
