About CORRUPTION 2029

Set in a dystopian America in the not-so distant future. CORRUPTION 2029 is a turn based tactical combat game from The Bearded Ladies, creators of ‘Mutant Year Zero: Road to Eden’ and Miasma Chronicles.

Using your supreme tactical abilities, command a squad of heavily augmented ‘units’ deep into enemy territory to discover the cause of the CORRUPTION.

CORRUPTION 2029 is a hardcore tactical game that should test the mettle of even the most experienced tactical gamers.

FIERCE TURN BASED COMBAT

Engaging in tactical combat is a formidable challenge that requires exceptional strategic planning for victory. You must lead your squad of four units across the battlefield, mastering the art of tactical positioning, effective cover utilisation, and maintaining a clear Line of Sight. Employ a range of explosives or specialised weaponry to obliterate enemy defences, and leverage powerful tactical implants to gain a decisive advantage.

SILENT STEALTH OR LOUD AND DESTRUCTIVE

Approach stealthily, devise a flawless trap, and take out unsuspecting enemy forces with your silent armaments, shifting the odds in your favour. Alternatively, grab your most powerful Gatling guns and grenades, unleashing a storm of firepower—it's entirely up to you.

EXPLORE A NEW AMERICA

The United States is fractured by civil war, split between the Free Alliance and the oppressive New American Council, who have been engaged in a brutal struggle for dominance for years. As the balance of power shifts, the NAC faces catastrophic defeats, and intelligence suggests they are on the verge of creating a desperate weapon of terror. What exactly are they constructing? What lies behind the CORRUPTION?

the game looks good but three trained soldiers should be able to hit a motionless target with their assault rifles from a distance of ten centimeters.

Bearded Ladies, you guys have so much potential !! But please make the next game length as XCOM 1 and/or 2 ! I promise you, IT WILL SELL ! Corruption 2029, Considering the price, it's worth it. If you want a fun but challenging and SHORT turn based strategy: Give it a try. The game is really short. There's a grand total of 18 missions. The game world is open to explore for the player to find items they need in fights, like: Med-kits, grenades, remote-explosives and turret hacking codes. The stealth is much like Mutant Road to Eden. Ambushing enemies with a shotgun and a GTA style mini-gun is HILARIOUS ! I am DISGUSTED at the following things though: Areas throughout the game are reused each chapter. Enemies will often spawn in the EXACT same location on the previous mission. You can only carry 3 of each of the consumables in the game, just a dumb decision from the Devs. But the WORST part of the game is act 3, the final act. Now stealth is pointless, since the only 2 stealth weapons in the game won't deal enough damage to take out most enemies. Also the flame thrower I get in ACT 3 is utterly useless. flame damage against ONLY robotic enemies ? WTF ?! I'd down vote it if I d…

Easily the weakest of The Bearded Ladies trilogy of turn based stealth RPGs. This game released after their best game, Mutant Year Zero: Road to Eden, but despite that it didn't improve on the original formula much, instead it actually regressed. Their games boil down to a simple, yet engaging gameplay loop of stealthing through a level to get the lay of the land to identify enemies and terrain, picking off enemies one by one, then engaging the remaining force in turn based combat. Enemies will completely overwhelm you if you avoid the stealth aspect of the game and just try to brute force it. Some other reviews rightly point out that this formula can get a bit stale, fortunately the run time of the game does stay relatively short. Unfortunately, whereas Mutant Year Zero, and Miasma Chronicles (the 3rd game the devs made) have more interesting worlds, engaging characters and stories, and more expansive levels that encourage exploration, Corruption does not. Your team is comprised of faceless cyborgs that play completely identically. Contrast this to the interesting mutants, each with unique skill trees, that you come across in the post apocalypse in MYZ and the difference is night…

It is not as bad as most people commenting say. It is not Mutant Year Zero or MIASMA Chronicles but still a good tactical shooter and it is worth the money it goes for. It might not reach the expectations of some, but still it has value. The combat in general, destruction, effects and graphics in summary are good. You can definitely have some fun with this one until Zero Company drops :)

Lacking the personality of the other two TBL games but thoroughly enjoyable just the same.
