About Fatermyth

Embrace the universe, transform the world into a game. The mysterious angler rescues you from death and invites you into this game of destiny. For your father’s unfinished mission, for overthrowing the cruel rule, you will embark on a fated legendary journey. Spanning thousands of years from ancient times to the present, you will experience the intertwined destinies of seven characters, gain the power to change your fate, and create a world truly belonging to "humans."

From the creation of the world by Pangu to the establishment of the Xia and Shang dynasties, gods shaped the world, and humans could only rely on the comfort of serving and believing in gods in the face of the unknown and hardships. Until bloody human sacrifices became the norm and slaves became playthings of the ruling class, destined individuals rose up to resist and establish an era of human governance, creating a splendid human world.

This story may be different from what you have heard or learned before—
Here, wizards are not charlatans who perform tricks, but the pioneers of matriarchal human tribes.
Here, Houyi is not only skilled at shooting the sun, but also a wandering traveler with deep love in his life.
Here, there are not only wars and conflicts among the Chinese people, but also various forces known as "alien races" — Shebish, Heichi, Qingqiu, mysterious dragons, enchanting foxes, brutal wolves, and various strange creatures described in the Classic of Mountains and Seas…
And as the story twists and turns, when you look closely, it all boils down to two people, a boat, a table, and a game of destiny.

· Numerous interesting quests and dungeon challenges.
· Each character in the game possesses a unique combat style, and as you level up, you can choose higher-level skills to enhance your abilities.
· Combine the equipment in the game to create a skill combination that is unique to you.
· There are over dozens of equipment options available in the game, and each piece of equipment has its own special effects.
· Dice combination + card battle mode, each throw determines the direction of the battle situation. Please make wise choices.
· Numerous random events and dungeons are waiting for you to discover and challenge!

Absolute cinema. Completely exceeded my expectations. I initially went in just to scratch my Slay the Spire itch, but instead I found a deeply emotional, story-driven gem. It feels criminally underrated, and I’m genuinely glad I stumbled upon this game. More yapping that MAY CONTAIN MINOR SPOILERS : > The story is where the game truly shines rather than the gameplay like SlaytheSpire. But that doesn't mean gameplay is bad, absolutely NOT. Gameplay is more satisfying rather than challenging—the big-number, nuke-damage kind of satisfying, like.. Monster Train! And just like Monster Train, I find the difficulty to be TOO EASY, WAY EASIER than SlaytheSpire. > The characters’ fates are beautifully intertwined, and that connection gives the narrative a strong emotional core. > Bai Chi and Jing Yin’s storylines stood out the most for me. I couldn't stop fangirling over them. Not just when their fate intertwined, but also during their background story arc. > All the main characters with their unique personalities and appearance designs, made me attached and obsessed. Such beautiful characters. ♡ > Oh right, the game doesn’t shy away from heavy themes, includin…

Well, mostly it is disappointing. While style is beautiful and story is engaging, you locked in the story as a "chosen one" male character that is "playing" fates and that is banal and nauseatingly boring. Because of it, I was losing interest in the story fast and in the end just drop it at all with the first lose. Don't know maybe later I will revisit the story later hoping that gameplay itself would engage me (improbable), but for know it just making me dissatisfied to the point of rage. Still I must acknowledge the work on this project that the only why I will leave a thumb up.

The tutorial story is one of the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ power fantasies I've ever read. Unmarked spoilers from here on out. I could totally get behind the story of vengance for the protag having his kingdom taken away and himself being put through unjust torment, if the protag wasn't a bloody lunatic who's just one dialogue option away from murdering a random pick-pocketer. (and please don't tell me that pick-pocketer returns as a super boss or something oh my god) Also cool how before the final battle the game waxes off about how revenge isn't as simple as slicing the throat of your enemy, and then the revenge is as simple as slicing the throat of the enemy really freaking hard. And the protag gives into his dark form like it's a Gacha World animation, good Lord! But y'know, the "Genius Invokation at home" style dice management was a pretty cool idea. Even that dark form I mentioned earlier used the usually bad unrerollable rolls to your advantage in a creative way, so there's that, I guess.

Fun little game, well worth the price tag. Took me exactly 35 hours to finish. The plot is charming and compelling, especially if you're not so familiar with Chinese mythology tropes. Fans of Wandering Sword and other Wuxia will get their fix from it. The combat is a simple dice game and you can figure out the synergistic strategies pretty easily. Enoyable for people who like cozy rather than sweaty minmaxing. I'm not sure what happened with the reviews who says it is all in Chinese - everything was translated well enough and the combat was explained straightforwardly, all in English. The silk set of equipment combined with any ability that generates stacks of wrath and/or resolute is broken.
