✦ AI summary

Cookie Cutter: Overkill Edition is praised for its appealing art style, engaging Metroidvania gameplay, and memorable personality, but players consistently report significant technical issues including broken quests, problematic hitboxes, audio settings that don't save, and occasional game-breaking bugs that force reloads or prevent progression. Despite these flaws, some players who appreciate the game's visual design and world-building feel it's worth playing through, though most recommend waiting for a sale and additional patches to address the stability problems.

The game was fun but locked up before going to the last area. I tried everything but couldn't get it to work. 10 hours down the drain. Played on Steam Deck.

I liked the game at the start, liked the artwork, and it seemed like fun, but after a while I grew tired of the annoying characters, annoying enemy AI, and not to mention how repetitive it gets by the end and the BUGs, my god there's a load of bugs in this game. Broken quests, incoherent and inconsistent map the shows some items and ignore the rest, strange hitboxes on the spikes that'll kill you instantly even if you don't touch it, even the options menu is bugged so if you wanted to lower in game audio it never saves your settings and you have to repeat that every time you play. The game looks nice and has a cool world and art style, but the multitude of bugs and the annoying hitboxes ruin everything, which is a shame. Overall 5/10 game. Only buy on sale if you appreciate the art style.

An amazing Metroidvania game.

To preface, I've 100% the achievements in this game. This game does have it's flaws. Mostly in the collection of bugs, ranging from slightly annoying but ignorable to ones that force you to reload an area. But despite it's issues I do very much recommend it and had a ton of fun playing through it. It does definitely need another round of patches, tweaks, and fine tuning, but its got a lot of personality and is a memorable game. My general thoughts and notes: - The music for most of the map seems to be one of two tracks, which does get repetitive after awhile. This is a very minor thing, though, as the music is good music. Some areas do have clearly distinct tracks which is nice, I just with more areas had unique music. - Some of the platforming is annoying, mainly because of the instant death spikes. Fortunately the game is generous with save points around these, so these sections are only minorly annoying. Plus the worst of these sections are optional. - The quality of the voice acting varies, with some being solid, and others, mainly side and background characters, sounding off and a bit unnatural. - The length of the brutalizing animations vary a fair bit, and especially the …

Es un juego muy entretenido. El combate puede ser un poco repetitivo y, en general, los enemigos se pueden neutralizar muy rápido con los ataques verticales. Pero me gusta, las visuales son muy lindas.
