Back when the game was coming it, a simple "Egg" commercial was released for it. A commercial that won several awards in its own right, and absolutely piqued my interest in the game. I bought it when it was new, and never once regretted it. This game is the definition of a hidden gem. Absolutely brilliant, exceptionally creative, a true work of art. A Myst-clone that rises above all others, by far my favorite in the genre. The fact that it is available to purchase once again is wonderful. If you like FMV games, point and click brain teasers, you owe it to yourself to pick this classic up. Don't let it continue to hide from you.

This one has a few obscure/tedious puzzles, but most are understandable and cool. This game looks super unique with its blend of 2D, 3D, and FMV. Reaally cool looking game that doesn't take long to finish. Soundtrack is fun. www.uhs-hints.com is your friend.

Crunchy FMVs, deliciously weird subject matter, and a painfully 1997-flavored view of the year 2066. Good puzzle design, master-class in surrealism, and a bizarre soundtrack by Thomas Dolby himself. If you like Mystlikes and some off-beat humor that is still amusing, even if for how it doesn't quite land, you'll love Obsidian.

Absolute classic of the CD-ROM era, only now without the constant disc swapping! Probably best in class puzzle design by Scott Kim, some of the most memorable puzzles ever. Extra surreal presentation which has aged surprisingly well being all pre-rendered, and the Thomas Dolby score has never sounded better (which the current version's software synth the music is stunning, on original hardware some of it was quite jarring back in the day). Anyone with an interest in Myst-style adventures should play this!

I've been trying to find a playable version of this game for at least 15 years. Decided to look it up recently and saw it was on Steam finally. So far it works perfectly and I couldn't be happier.

Do you like old point n click puzzlers with FMV? if Yes, then yeah, this is a good one, go for it, it's really trippy and the puzzles are solidly difficult & satisfying.
