3/10 Overall [h2]Story:[/h2] Mid at best. Your average rookie adventurer inspired to become the top only to stumble upon some mystery/conspiracy, manage to beat it and a hero they become. Not bad, but nothing special. [h2]Game-play:[/h2] While most quest are an appropriate amount of grind, certain collection-type quests demands way too much material (especially the slum side quest) and the drop rate on the enemy is subpar at best. Combined with the numerous type of enemy (most of then re-skin BTW) it becomes a tedious, boring time-sink. Huge enemy stats spike in the snow mountain area, and there is not really a way to boost your level & stats at all. It's clearly the dev's way of forcing you out of virgin playthrough but it's honestly not even that helpful to do so, you'd still suffers a lot with the gear you bought with the extra money. Crime/sin system is also poorly design, you need to steal all the item in town and then reset item by sleeping multiple time to reach 50 to unlock the mafia quest. Played demo thought it was good. Got the game but not so much. Usual jrpg issues no working log it has one but good luck figuring it out. Really just wandered off and played other games. Seemed ok but really didn't work.

Still hoping it will be patched out so it doesn't freeze or lockup the steam deck

There's a lot to this game but it's all too short. 17 hrs and I completed twice, both times doing the Prostitution line. Second time I also did the Good Guild stuff. All of it too short. I liked playing the game. Just wanted more of it. Feels incomplete. Worth it if on sale. I paid full price and I'm not angry about it.
