Echoes of The Backrooms: Remastered

I received a key for this game from the developer- Alexandros who is a good friend of mine and I honestly couldn’t be more proud of what he’s built. The sound design is incredible, immersive, disturbing, and atmospheric. The visuals are absolutely stunning, with lighting and texture work that you can feel. And the attention to detail? Beautiful. You can sense the care poured into every corner, every shadow and every glitch in the environment. While I understand why some of the reviews are negative despite of that though, Alexandros (DarkSight Studio), built this entire experience on his own. This game doesn’t just want to scare you, it wants to mess with your head. And in that, it absolutely succeeds. Is it perfect? No. Is it ambitious and impressive? Without a doubt. If you’re someone who values atmosphere, artistry, and vision then this is a game worth experiencing. I know he’s already cooking up more, I might be involved in some of those upcoming projects.👀 Echoes was just the beginning, what’s coming next is going to be even more insane. It's super blurry and hard to look at. This fact alone ruins any experience you may expect to have with this game. Really hard to believe there is not an option to turn off these filters.

This is a different horror game! i liked the atmosphere and the whole process of the game! it has some bugs but they are not crucial! GW for a solo greek developer!

Pros: The game looks visually fantastic. It has a lot of interesting and creative jump scares that aren't obvious. There are a few surprising features that I was not expecting. (For instance being able to drag the windows on the monitor! Nice touch!) Controls are standard and easy to figure out if you're used to playing with a keyboard. Voice actor is immersive Cons: Performance - not everyone has an idea of their specs, changing the settings took a lot of time to find the right fit Controls - The game does zero hand holding (No basic tutorial) Functionality - Some assets didn't show the key indicators and as a result I didn't know you could get the drink out of the vending machine until randomly spamming E in all directions. I couldn't work out how to use a lot of the items in my inventory there is no on screen guide and mashing buttons got me nowhere. Sound - Spacial Audio is a bit sporadic in places for example when you hear the warning signals as the gate opens and then try to run away you can't hear the audio very well in the main hall but it's clear again in the lift, the same thing in the backrooms some area's had interesting sounds that you could hear randomly when adjace…

One of the best, most original backrooms game I've played yet and I've played them all. sound design could've been a little bit better but overall I give it a 9 out of 10.
