PROJECT 13

I played this after finishing Exit 8 and Platform 8, the poster children for the anomaly spotting genre afaik, I was expecting something similar to them, and while it was similar in gameplay style, my enjoyment of the game was not the same. This game is straight buns. Finding some of the anomalies seems like a borderline herculean task when Unreal Engine 5 is fighting against you to make the game look like dog piss on the sidewalk, there were like two anomalies out of the 27 or so I encountered where I thought that the game might be redeemed and then instantly went back to contesting with the engine. The options menu has about as many 'options' as I'd expect in a game released before the turn of the millenium, which doesn't help with the overall instability of the game. If you REALLY like the concept and genre, I'd get it on sale, otherwise I find this hard to recommend to anyone else.

I enjoyed it a good bit: the anomalies were entertaining and ranged from the obvious to very subtle. I would recommend the low resolution mode as the higher graphics setting obscure your vision with darkness making the game near impossible to beat. The game runs alright but the design of the space is quite poor for the genre. Fun anomolies are very thinly dispersed and subtle anomolies arn't pleasant to look for due to the search space being too random. I would give this a 5/10 but I woudn't recomend.

played it for a short while, and had some fun with it. one of the only anomaly games like this that ive played, and it got pretty interesting at times. overall, fun and intriguing.

It's nice but there are way better, I got a headache and motion sickness playing this game... Get it only if it's on sale (around $1), otherwise not worth having...

This game served as an excellent introduction to the horror simulation genre. Prior to playing Project 13, I was unfamiliar with this style of game, but the experience led me to explore similar titles such as Shinkansen 0 and Exit 8.
