About Loopbound

Loopbound is a narrative incremental game where you play as a traveller trapped in a time loop. Each cycle brings you a little closer to unravelling the mystery of your existence as you explore different eras and dimensions and make choices that shape your path.In each cycle you gather resources, face decay and survival, and unlock new actions and worlds. What you achieve in one cycle carries over to the next, so each run takes you further. The story unfolds through the places you visit and the events you encounter along the way.Key features:
  • Loops with persistent progression: Die, respawn, and try again; permanent upgrades and unlocked automation carry over between cycles.
  • Survival and decay: Manage hunger, poison, and resources; time and your actions affect your condition and your options.
  • Multiple worlds: Journey through different worlds, each with its own rules and possibilities.
  • Skill system: Level up skills that speed up actions and unlock new options.
  • Automation: After repeating tasks manually, you can automate them to progress while you plan your next move.
  • Integrated narrative: The story is built from world states, events, and the choices you make in each loop.
  • Cloud save: Your save syncs with Steam Cloud so you can continue on another device.
If you like incrementals with story and a touch of survival, Loopbound invites you to live the loop again and again until you discover what lies behind it.

✦ AI summary

Players praise this early access automation incremental as a solid successor to Increlution with polished UI/UX, engaging mechanics that evolve across playthroughs, and a responsive developer, offering good content value for the price. The main complaints revolve around excessive downtime between runs and linear early progression—issues inherent to the genre—along with desires for more varied content areas and the ability to use unlocked features across all worlds sooner to reduce waiting periods.

It's a game heavily inspired by Increlution, if you've played that, you know what this is. I think the dev themselves are a fan of Increlution too so that's awesome. The dev is also very involved in the community. Just remember, before you buy, it's an EA, so it's not finished yet. The game does have its shortcomings, and I do feel some areas could be worked more - as well as also introduce more areas. On the other hand, it's still like, 0.5.10 or something, so there's bound to be more gameplay. Anyway, I just wanted to leave my own review, this is one of those games that you cannot say an objective single "yes" or "no", it's "yes if you liked Increlution - but no if you don't like time-loop-related idlers", or "not yet if you are afraid your saves might get reset - but yes if you wait for a more stable version". Also keep in mind that this is *inspired* by Increlution, it's *not* that game. It's its own game. Anyway, hope the dev makes more stuff in the future, so I'm supporting this.

Not a bad start to an incremental in the vein of Terraformental and Increlution. It's very light on content compared to those games, with only 30 or so hours of progress... most of which is grinding rather than discovering new things since the Early Access balance feels a little off. The ratio of time spent each loop between repeating old content and exploring new doesn't seem quite there, and there's limited opportunity so far to optimise you solution beyond the initial one you come up with. So grinding out the necessary 5 (usually) repetitions to automate a step feels like more of a punishment than it does in other games where the progress is more granular and even the second or third repetition feels significantly faster than the first. Here the first, second, third repetitions all feel very similar and the fourth starts to feel a bit better, then the fifth lets you automate it and largely stop caring about it, other than how long you go afk waiting for the loop to catch up to the point where it needs manual input. It's hard to describe, it just doesn't quite feel right. The point where speed up happens is the point where you basically stop needing to care about it. And the va…

Really like this take on an increlution-type game (personally prefer it over the original). The non-linear paths and permanent unlocks are great. I like the reset currency use for setting up automations. Each world having its own stats was surprising at first, but then it turns out that stats in one world boosts the XP for the stats in other worlds. It also means more things to farm. Each route is quite different from each other including things like a maze where you gradually fill in a map each run, swamp with poison, desert with desiccation, and a fun story that gradually develops each loop. Definitely recommend this game for players that like rebirth games with gradual metaprogression into an OP character with an exploration rpg component.

worst increlution, world don't interact and it's just not complete

Boring plot, no real visuals, and unexciting gameplay that boils down to pressing the same buttons on repeat until you've done it enough times that the game lets you progress. Even the supposed "difficult area" only has a basic traversal restriction, which matters very little since you'll just spam training then make a loop. The incentives to do past areas again are abysmally low, so much so that until you have several unlocked for greater time skip speed it is never better to do them. From the forum post on AI usage the dev seems to think that they've got a good enough grasp on interesting mechanics to forego the story and visuals to a large extent, but they really don't. It doesn't matter how complicated the different resources are to keep track of in your head when any player can easily beat almost any section through sheer brute force. Terrible.
