Posthuman: Guardians vs PSION

Got railroaded on the final attack. The end also seems off, rushed. Up to then it was kind of ok. 4.5/10

I've liked other Choice of Game titles, particularly in the superhero and supernatural realms. But this one just didn't do it for me. I felt like I was waiting for something to happen the entire game, but it never did. I mean, there is a superhero battle or two, but I never felt like I had a lot of agency in what transpired. The end mission was pretty good, but then the game ends. I don't feel like I got to develop many relationships, interact with the public, or hone my identity. This is like a C- experience. It's not awful, but it never gets immersive or has much of a pay off either.

Posthuman: Guardians vs PSION delivers a surprisingly layered superhero experience that feels less like a traditional game and more like an interactive comic-book saga shaped entirely by player decisions. The world in this story is very interesting. Or so I thought. I tried going into this game with an open mind, as someone who loves the superhero genre. But I just can not recommend this game. The story is just... Not bad, but very very Meh. I won't say any spoilers, but the world this game sets up is basically X-Men's world, of Humans vs 'Mutants', aka 'Post Humans'. Those born with super powers, and those power activate some X years after they are born, like Mutants in X-Men. And Humans hate and fear the Super Powered, like X-Men, they are called Posthumans cause they are concidered the next evolution of humans.... Like X-Men. Seeing a Pattern here? But here's the most not X-Men thing in the entire game... That 'Conflict' of Humans vs Posthumans? Yeah that never actually becomes a part of the story. We HEAR it exists, we are TOLD it is. But other than like 2 humans, 1 we talk to in the very beginning of the game, and 1 is a reporter where we get a press interview live, we do not see, interact with, talk to, hear about, or communicate with any other humans again the ENTIRE game. Every other person we interact with, is a Posthuman. So they built up this entire conflict filled worl…

Definitely not the best Choice of game I've played, but by far not the worst. The writing isn't the best, and I haven't tried a second playthrough yet, but I found some of the minor nuances within the choices made quite interesting. My chosen power was brought up quite often, even if I didn't have many options to use it (I'm not sure if you can get multiple powers but that was alluded to, and also I was able to level my power up to have more uses but that didn't really have much effect practically other than a handful of things said in the writing.) [spoiler] The pacing about halfway through is way too quick as others have said, and the other factions don't seem nearly as fleshed out (you can join 3 for the final conflict but only one of them has more than one character associated with them that are fleshed out). this game deserves a mixed rating more than a negative one, I was pleased with it after reading the negative reviews, and I hope that if they continue this story series they can make improvements on where this one lacked The biggest disappointment was the ending, it was...
