- Work with the Beacon City PD and stay on the right side of the Superhero Investigation Agency - or push them aside, and soar above the law.
- Use subtlety and empathy to turn your enemies away from villainy, or fight them head-on with your super-strength - or join them in villainy!

“The Last Scion” features a solid superhero story with fun action and some genuinely good moments, but it offers limited flexibility. It's more a linear narrative with flavor choices than a true choose-your-own-adventure, and the more you stray from the intended path, the more the seams begin to show. (5/10) The biggest issue is frequent railroading, made worse by dialogue options that don't fit the situation. Characters trust you instantly, long before they know who you are, and you're expected to trust complete strangers after a single conversation. But why would you open up to a journalist you just met on a rooftop? Or ask a wealthy captain you met seconds ago to fund a major project? You wouldn’t. An undercover janitor section highlights this disconnect even more. A newsroom would treat a janitor as invisible: staff, not editorial. Someone who shouldn’t be near evidence, shouldn’t be in the break-room gossip circle on day one, and certainly wouldn’t be asked for moral opinions on police corruption. Instead, you get options to say things like: “No. Understanding the depth of people’s suffering is part of the job. Turning away from it is cowardly.” Your job? As a janitor? You…
Pity about the laser eyes...
Overall I had a good time. I enjoyed the narrative, the characters, the writing.But it suffers the same issue a lot of Choice of games do in that it's too easy to accidentally spread yourself too thin with your stats, resulting in you spending your run failing like 90% of your checks. Frustrating enough in most games, downright maddening when you're playing a pseudo-Superman. Didn't feel very super, is all I'm saying.
If you've ever wanted your own Superman OC here's your chance.
I recommend this game. It costs six bucks at full price, took me slightly longer than four hours on my first playthrough, and hit many of the story beats one would expect from a game where your character is basically Superman. You can talk and act like Superman generally does (if you want to), villains talk and act like supervillains generally do (and there are more of them than the store page currently lists), you can get up to some Clark Kent and Lois Lane shenanigans, it's fun, it's familiar, and it's six bucks at full price, which is about the cost of a Frappuccino at Starbucks.
