Your mission objective: go to your niece's birthday party How do you accomplish this? Magic. In all honesty while the system is challenging to learn at first it's very cool once you get the hang of it.

Fun unique battle system, I feel the opponents have so much health even on the lowest difficulty that the fights drag on longer than is fun. Game needs a few small balance tweaks but overall very cool concept.

Eh, fights are kinda repetitive and the rings seem kinda bland but it's servicable, the art style is definitely interesting, and I didn't hate playing it. No technical issues to speak of which is a higher bar than you'd expect and all of the card effects made sense when you read them, no translation errors or funkiness there.

It's an OK game, fairly simple card builder with random elements. You can pick up new cards, items, and rings which trigger on certain elements. I can't recommend it purely due to how many great game there are out there, but it's fun for a while. There is a lack of balance in the game, and some of the descriptions are completely incorrect. For example the spell dice mechanic description says that the one spell card is activated each turn, and the card isn't discarded. But they are. It may not seem a big difference, but being able to discard cards is needed for some enemies to remove their shield, and for some abilities. If you do decide to try it, there is a demo. Unfortunately, in the main game the Apprentice character has has their deck changed a lot, and is actually one of the harder characters to play, especially at the start. I would suggest Magus as a starting character instead, completely overpowered compared to the apprentice.
