good game but nothing you will miss , you can skip it too
I love a good 3D platformer and Pumpkin Jack doesn't disappoint! It's just a shame that it's so short! You can get about three hours out of the game, maybe six for completion sake, but those short hours are chockful of some quality gameplay! The collectables are fun to hunt down, the mini games inventive and engaging, and each boss is unique. I love the variety of weapons too, even though it seemed like I was just swapping out for the most recent whenever something turned up. The soundtrack is honestly my favorite part, especially all the boss battle themes. It strikes the perfect spooky notes that you'd expect from a game where you're running around as a pumpkin headed scarecrow fighting zombies and skeletons. I guess if I had to complain about something, it'd be the end game. Yes I completed the game and the final boss is defeated, but after getting a new weapon after each boss, I was kind of hoping for some kind of powerful or even just a silly "you beat the game, now go have some silly fun" weapon. And another small gripe, since its an indie game mostly made by one person, but some more voice acting would have been nice especially during the combat where reading is difficult …
Nice old school platformer, but sadly keeps the dire old school camera. So many deaths due to god awful camera angles. Nevermind the excess of instantdeath platforming sections. Could have been great if not for some terrible design decisions made to likely extend playtime
This is a hilarious game. You can tell in seconds of playing how well made this is. The controls are smooth, the environment is beautiful with the colors and shading, and the weapons are cool. And it's funny, the gramophone dance has me cracking up. Super fun.
very funny game yet very simple in design and you can see a lot of flaws in it. You can really feel it being one of the first projects where the devs try figuring things out and seeing what works and what doesn't, and you can feel that more after playing their newer project: Far Far west, which while being a different genre, you can see the devs improving upon the flaws of Pumpkin Jack. I really am looking forward seeing evilraptor get better and better at game design with their other projects.
