I 100% loved this game, loved the game mechanics, sound design, art styles and environments. I don't wanna spoil anything, so cryptically I will say there are some story elements (small not big picture) I didn't like just cause I loved the mystery of everything and at a few later points we peak behind the curtain you could say, which was a bit of a bummer. But for gameplay and overall story it was so much fun and if there was ever another I would play it. If anyone is into mystery, unique game mechanics, and love a creative world and lore design then GET. THIS. GAME.1 found this helpful

"Chants of Sennaar" is one of the best computer games I've ever played, hands-down. In spite of minor flaws it convinces with its rather unique concept and, for the most part, great execution. "Sennaar" is at its heart a point-and-click adventure, but with a unique twist: You don't know the language of the people you encounter for the most part and have to piece the languages together from glyphs/symbols of each language you know that act as words and concepts. Gradually you build your vocabulary until you finally master each language - and enjoy the humor and storytelling along the way. In this, "Sennaar" reminds me of the LucasArts' classic "LOOM" (where you only can weave spells out of musical notes to affect the world). The game creates five distinct cultures, each with their own tropes, language, including simple grammar differences, way of dressing, and unique home, valuing different things. The game portrays their interactions with each other in this Tower of Babel environment and lets you influence it. I loved the language aspect, the scripts are beautiful, with influences from pictographs, runes, more flowing scripts, circuit diagrams, chemistry, and alchemy. The …
