Mr. Prepper

Gotta say. This isn't the game I figured would keep getting updates. I'm impressed by the teams dedication. It's fun and I love hiding a massive compound worthy of the cold war away from the prying eyes of authority. The characters are charming and i like the whole package. Definitely recommend for a game about hiding a huge escape plan behind a white picket fence.

What was the point of building a nuclear shelter if we never actually get to use it to survive a nuclear attack? I was expecting the final part of the game to be about surviving underground in the bunker we'd spent the whole game preparing. That would have made all that grinding and preparation feel worthwhile. Instead, we just leave everything behind and fly away in a rocket. Such a missed opportunity.

Mr. Prepper is a different take on survival simulation. I did enjoy most of it, but I found the story and what to do to make progress a bit confusing. For example, you need a Geiger counter, which you can find sitting on a desk but it is only there after dark and you can only interact with it once you have done a side quest. I had fun playing it, but I would not want to play it again—even less 100%ing it again, which was a drag in and of itself.

I'm not sure how I really feel with this game because I want to like it but its mechanics feel a bit "pushy", the game makes you rush constantly which is kind of an issue with building games. I didn't find any slider to slow down the game and its tutorial barely tell you the barebones. The interface is somewhat counterintuitives and would benefit from quality of life improvements. Lots of extra steps, and it's easy to miss all the inspections juts because you're doing what you're supposed to do. Hunger, sleep, OK it's normal but it often feels obtrusive, especially that 3rd life bar that is "preparedness", a mixed concept reflecting a personal neurotic feeling. The idea is good but all of this feels more annoying than manageable. It takes a lot of trial and error and knowledge, more than logic, to balance the time devoted to each task properly. So there is an easy mode for that but I'd rather slow down the game or use a pause system to give orders. It would make a lot more sense. I really wanted to enjoy this little game, I like its sarcastic and satiric edge, but it's a disappointment. Maybe I'll come back to this review lated but let's say it's a really mixed feeling and…

I don`t know, the operation in this game sucks ass. Just delete the battle system if you don`t know how to do it right. The distance is a mess, durability is a mess, control is a mess, it`s just a total disaster. No numeric attributes whatsoever. It`s just like you built a car and trying to put a swimming pool inside it.

Great little game chill simply combat realistic food decay after 32 hours my 3 take aways. 1 If you liked fallout shelter this is your jam. 2 Wish it had a hardcore mode no scheduled inspections he just pops in no knock search power and water shut off after x days that's it hope you got gen and water storage every missing item or over limit is noticed, 3 Please make a mobile version of the game.
