It's a great game.

Lovely graphics and a fun variety of weapons. That said, it is to some extent a "teen lit" roguelite. I've seen lots of people in reviews saying the exploration of themes of depression and ability really helped them. I found the writing to be painfully amateurish most of the time. The relationship mechanics are as basic as you can yet. You can "chitchat" and give unlocked "gifts" based on the person's preferences. Ultimately you can't see the true ending without unlocking all the friendships. All characters are LITERALLY faceless and the writing wasn't enough to elevate them to vivid characters I'd care about. If each person had their own "quest" after unlocking, that'd be an incredible addition. The world is lovely but the movement is floaty and a bit imprecise, Because the graphical environment is so rich, it can seem difficult to navigate the playfield, as the playable and non playable surfaces are hard to tell apart. Resources are hard to see and you have to waste time looking for faint white bubbles. I enjoyed it, but I can see roguelite players who care more about the mechanics being frustrated.

Great addition to the genre if you enjoy it. Definitely worth it on sale.

I had zero expectations, what I got was a pretty cosy adventure about dealing with loss and facing the unknown. It's a bit padded, like all roguelikes, but overall I was pleasantly surprised.

Just feels clunky and unfun. Checked out very quickly and I am usually a sucker for games like this. Doesn't feel very 1.0 either.
