Odd Dorable

10/10 i saw a cheese fly into the night sky!

I'm really trying to be nice to this one for such a sweet and endearing concept, but it is inarguable that this - a passion project for a man's daughter - may only appeal to one target market: his daughter. Otherwise, I find it hard to coo over this one like a father being handed his 5 year old's drawing of a cat. Judging it objectively, there are countless shortcomings that impede the player experience; [list] [*]The game's framerate absolutely tanks to under 10fps often, even on decent hardware [*]The map is enormous with large empty spaces that your character slowly crawls through [*]Invisible walls leave you running circles around the map to find a way to things you can already see right in front of you [*]Sound effects layer over top of each other creating a sort of kindergarten cacophony that grates on you quicky [*]There is little communicated as to what is of consequence, leading y…

i'm so good at this game. my favourite guy is the dude with the yellow who is sitting by the rocket ship :). my only gripe with the game is the sad flower.

[h1] Sweet Candy [/h1] This game is an odd one to reflect on. Certainly, using a child's drawing to bring a video game world to life and to let the player experience its silliness is a unique thing to do. I really did hope to come here and unleash words of praise and positivity, but personally I left with some mixed feelings. The game is all right at best. Let's put aside the unique major selling point of having a child's vision of the world set as the art style and just talk about what the game has to offer and who it might sell itself to. If I had to come up with a similar type of game, I would consider the Mario games. Let's say my favourite classic of all time, Super Mario 64. Odd Dorable is the simplified version of one single game world in Super Mario 64, just to give you an idea of what this game demands in terms of puzzle logic and world exploration. It is fun to walk through the peaceful and colourful world. I really enjoyed the a cappella SFX and the child's voice used to give the NPCs and animals some sound to communicate back to you. not sure why i didnt write a review for this sooner but oh well this is such an adorable game and although simple, i really like the art style and the fact that it was done by the dev's daughter :) i even almost cried at one point lmao

Is very fun and unique, 100% it! Hope your daughter keeps making art!! Only downside is it's a little laggy
