✦ AI summary

Forgotten Blood is a dark fantasy adventure where you investigate the sinister origins of a devastating curse plaguing a mysterious valley filled with ruined temples, grotesque swamps, and corrupt churches. The game weaves theological and philosophical questions into an angelpunk narrative that challenges your understanding of divinity and humanity as you unravel what truly lurks behind the valley's twisted facade.

Like King's Field! If you miss Dark Souls 1 back when it first came out and you had no idea what anything meant, and the enemies were just stupid difficult but also so janky that you could really maneuver your attacks around them if you wanted to cheese certain encounters... This game is for you. If you want objective markers, a detailed map, forgiving mechanics, plentiful healing options, fair combat encounters, this game is not for you. Over 56% of players (at the time of this review) did not make it out of the tutorial area which lasts about 3-5 minutes. Let that sink in. Do you think you're going to enjoy this game? If not, don't even bother. But if you like retro, impossibly difficult, demake-style games, this is exactly what you're looking for.

I can consider the good and the bad reviews, perhaps I haven't played enough. I've only put in half an hour so far. I found that game doesn’t keep you hooked and the combat is very simplistic. I don't like to compare it to other games, because each game is its own thing. I felt like I was always looking for what to do, it can be a good thing and a bad thing, as it makes you explore more. I am just giving a good review because the game is still getting updated, maybe this game will turn into something interesting.

I like the game, but it needs a lot of work still and could use some qol improvements. It's unplayable on my widescreen monitor, in fullscreen text and health bar get cut off, and in windowed mode the window is tiny and I can't resize it. I suspect this is a general problem with wide-screen monitors. Luckily I have another computer connected to a TV, so there I can play it, but unfortunately there are still some major problems with the game... As soon as you enter the outside/forest area, the performance tanks pretty hard, which is quite surprising considering the oldschool graphics and low poly models. I found several hidden Chests that I could not open and there was no message saying I need something to open them (I had keys anyway). I got stuck in several places and often had to respawn to get free. There are so many places where you can hear footsteps but no enemy is there, so either there's a sound bug or a lot of enemies stuck inside walls or under the ground. On-Screen text is often just displayed for less than a second, then you have to find the perfect position for it to pop up again for another second... When using an item after you die, but before respawning, the item …

Interesting game, a souls with jump capacity, at least THE DEMO was good. BUT, the game continued after it is lacking resolution in some aspects. Got to the Aurilim temple and explored the upper part, but unclear to me how to progress. So I'm stopping playing, will see I if retake the game in the future with updates or some youtube walkthrough or similar, if ever. My actual score is neutral+ to allow the dev a chance to update. Find unsuspected shortcuts if you explore. Option, graphics: "No Filter" is nicest for me (would like an even cleaner image). Start: 3 options. First, agility hero, dagger. 2nd mind hero = mage though staff strike combat so far. 3rd, strength hero, sword. Anyway, choose what you may, you access any other weapons too, bow is weak so far (broken bridge chest). RBM blocks with crystal dagger, this action has magical effects in diverse places. Enjoying the clever and well written lore. -- Disclosure: 71 y.o. now slower gamer, so I use my own C.E. tables in every game, and my playing isn't typical. Some hints for other mature gamers or the interested. ** DROPPED ITEMS (ALL AT ONCE) CAN BE PICKED UP // An items' Address ends in same hex digit always, seem…

really nails the fromsoft mood and weird obscure exploration, and the art is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ breathtaking. writing is pretty good. some notes stamina regen needs a bit of a buff imo the menu ui is extremely difficult to navigate on controller get a variety of exertion noises going on the skeletons with shields feel unhittable even when i'm attacking from behind make sure all your assets have walls, found a couple things i shouldn't have been able to walk through allow players to return to the dialogue tree without ending and restarting the dialogue
