Alien Breed 2: Assault

The screen shake from the first game is finally gone, there is more money, I feel like? to get upgrades, heals and ammo. There was no difficulty spikes, I only needed to use a turret twice and never used the armor consumable on the highest difficulty. During a level, I feel like there was 2 paths, one led me to be overwhelmed because I was saving a turret and wasn't expecting an immediate wave of survival and died, the other path played like usual. Overall was on par with the first 1. I'm sorry for not putting more information as I just noticed I forgot to review it. :)

I have finished this game some years ago and this is one of the saddest games that I have ever played. The gameplay is liimited, the story is rather irrelevant, the weapons are ♥♥♥♥ and playing with anyone is worse than having cancer. I would not force my enemies (and I have none) to play this game either alone or with a friend. Why? Quite simple, the weapons are ♥♥♥♥ and the checkpoints are a nightmare. I am unsure why anyone would develop such a ♥♥♥♥ game just to release something. Just imagine this game but with decent games, a co-op improved experience and better checkpoints ----> a way better experience for anyone! I was asked by a friend to finish some achievements and we wasted.... 3 days to finish 3 achievements... OMG what a waste of our time that was....

Recommended. A punchy top-down horde shooter on a ghost ship, whose weapon feel and log-driven horror carry a structure worn thin by detours and a climax that ends without a fight. The Hyper Blaster, assault rifle and flamethrower are properly kick-ass, and Intex vending upgrades give every earned credit an immediate home. Carol's diary of a station dying of a manufactured flu is the grimmest, best writing here, and the locked-camera set-pieces (the spiral room, the defence-gun holdout) break the isometric routine memorably. The Octomorph and monorail spider bosses are real spectacles, ammunition hunger included. Every objective is blocked by a deliberately broken something, sending the long way round, and aliens popping from walls inches away function as difficulty rather than challenge. No weapon wheel, no dodge, and a self-destruct finale with no boss to settle the score. Still fun throughout; the ending is an invoice for the next volume.

I liked it! It's old but it's good fun. Only buy on sale, it goes down to 0,99 euros some times.

the mission is not done yet! the 2nd entry is great and chill as the previous one. they added some new weapons to play with which is great! i like that they didn t deviate much from the same formula. perfect for casual players, even better on sale

In 2010 the name Alien Breed wouldn't have turned many heads or caused concern. Nowadays... I don't think you can get away naming anything "Breed"... This modern release of Alien Breed was a big milestone for Team 17 in my opinion, as this game series was one of their first ever developed on the Amiga/MS-DOS back in 1991. This successor is similar to their classic release, top down shooter with a heavier emphasis on story when compared to other T17 games and 2010's arcade releases alike. I can't prove that Alien Breed inspired VALVe's Alien Swarm... but it sure does feel like it... and for good reason. It's simply fun and afforadable
