18 Wheels of Steel: Extreme Trucker 2

A very good Truck Simulator you must play if you like ATS and/or ETS2 like me. It has not the freedom like in the other mentioned games but it's worth and fun to do some transpot in Alaska, the Rocky Mntns, a very narrow mountain road in South America and somewhere in South China and Australia, I like the variation a lot. And it has it's own atmosphere in each area. I have a controller and even a T128 Wheel but I prefer to play with keyboard cause it's confusing to configure the controller and T128. But I grew up with keyboard race games in the nineties, so np for me.

Great blast from the past! Purchased because of not paying for it when it originally came out. One thing you need to do before it launches: create a config.cfg file (make sure it's .cfg and not .cfg.txt like Windows defaults without telling you). Instructions easy to find in the discussion. Supports 4k! Although there are some visual artifacts.

same as the 1st game except it has more maps, if you like older trucking games just buy this one over the 1st one.

Decided to finally complete this game after all these years. It obviously has problems, but was still a good time at the end of day. I'm not going to lie, I had nostalgia goggles on, so take this review with a grain of salt.

Developed by SCS Software and published by Cosmi Valusoft, 18 Wheels of Steel: Extreme Trucker 2 takes the familiar formula of long-haul trucking and injects it with a stronger sense of danger and adventure. Instead of spending most of its time on predictable highways, the game challenges players to deliver valuable cargo through some of the harshest landscapes imaginable, where unstable roads, unpredictable weather, and unforgiving terrain become just as threatening as tight deadlines. It successfully creates a driving experience that is more intense than a traditional trucking simulator while still maintaining the strategic planning and careful vehicle management that fans of the genre expect. The game's biggest strength is its focus on extreme environments. Every contract feels like a genuine expedition as players navigate steep mountain passes, muddy trails, icy roads, rocky paths, and remote wilderness where one mistake can have costly consequences. The addition of new regions, including Montana and Bangladesh, greatly expands the variety of driving conditions. Montana offers rugged landscapes filled with winding mountain routes and changing weather, while Bangladesh presents…
The Father of Modern Truck Sims
Graphics & Visuals: 7.5/10 For a 2011 trucking simulator, Extreme Trucker 2 still holds up surprisingly well. The visuals aren't revolutionary, but the art direction does exactly what it needs to. Snow-covered mountain roads, frozen lakes, muddy forest trails, and dangerous cliffside routes all have their own identity. Unlike many modern truck simulators that spend hours on endless highways, every region here feels handcrafted to offer a different challenge. Even today, there's a certain charm to its presentation that makes it difficult to forget. Gameplay & Driving Physics: 9/10 If you've played other games in the 18 Wheels of Steel series, you'll immediately feel at home. The driving model strikes an enjoyable balance between simulation and accessibility, but Extreme Trucker 2 raises the stakes by constantly placing you in hazardous environments. Slippery ice, steep mountain climbs, narrow roads, unstable cargo, and unpredictable terrain force you to actually pay attention behind the wheel. It's less about cruising comfortably and more about surviving the journey. Mission Variety: 9/10 This is what …
