3D Mahjong worlds

The Good: Aesthetically, it is the best implementation of the game in VR. It makes good use of VR and Vr really adds to the experience. It has real potential if issues are addressed. Things that I would like to see (and the bad) There seems to be no real challenge. What is there is fine for a sort of 'zen' mode and should be kept for that. But it needs a harder mode with a timer - so you have a bit a of panic when up against the clock. When you have no more moves, the tiles are automatically shuffled - why? Isn't the the very idea of the game to think a strategy to avoid this and to take the correct tiles to solve the puzzle. Obviously, the stages would have to be worked out so that it is the players fault (rather than the game's) if you get the tiles locked. The one thing that made it totally unplayable for me is when I found out that if you click a tile, the matching tile (if there is one) is highlighted. This removes the very last bit of challenge. All you really need to do is randomly click on tiles and let the game tell you where the matching tile is. Please put me right if I have any of this wrong (and I will change the review) - or if there is an option I missed som…

Definitely one game I will never, ever start on this or any other PC again.. I have an Oculus rift, so I have the rift client installed. I decided to try this game in its ordinary `flat screen` mode so I started the game by choosing that option. Despite doing this, it booted up and started the oculus client (which it should NOT do). The client opened on top of the game, obscuring it and any of its prompts or buttons. So I tried to close the oculus client, but discovered that the mouse movements were locked to the games POV, so moving the mouse, just moved the background..(behind the open oculus client window, which I could not close). THis meant that I could not see any exit button, and also could not exit by moving the mouse and closing any of the open windows. Even pressing ctrl-alt-del did not work, I wanted to enter the task manager to kill the process, but my mouse was STILL locked to the game.. The ONLY way I could exit at all, was to perform a hard reset.. (I tried to exit by just tapping the power button but as soon as I signed into the PC again, I was back in the same situation. it is NEVER recommended that you do a hard reset, as you are effectively just cutting the powe…

This game doesn't use VR is any shape or form, other than you have to wear a headset to play it. Levels are poorly made, and impossible to solve without reshuffling the pile. Nothing about the game warrants a VR release, and the core game isn't even a very enjoyable mahjong game.

I’ve gone 35 years on this earth without playing Mahjong… not for any particular reason – heck, it was preloaded on half of the computers I’ve owned … It just never caught my fancy. I got this VR version in a game bundle for peanuts, and finally decided to fire it up today. Hey, Okay, it’s a fun game! It has a meditative sort of quality, and I can see how playing in VR eliminates the tedious task of physically stacking all those tiles in real life. It’s well executed – looks nice, nice environments, smooth and simple game play. I like it, and am looking forward to harder sets, especially when the auto-selection-help-highlighting feature goes away. Thumbs: UP!

Lovely game for mahjong lovers. Some of the combinations are especially interesting in 3D. I like the VR support and the mobile version. The engine runs smooth and bug free. Solid buy.
