About 808
You wake up in a padded cell with no memory of how you got there. A voice in your ear says his name is Dex. He's going to help you remember.
About the game
Ash is a patient at Helix Industries, a corporation that resolves traumatic experiences. Across 808 days of therapy, your operator Dex guides you through your own past memories: An art gallery you don't remember visiting, a tabletop fantasy game you don't remember playing, a restaurant where someone never arrived to meet you, a cabin in the snow you used to call home.Features
808 is a first-person narrative game in the tradition of The Stanley Parable, The Beginner's Guide, and Firewatch. The game is played by walking, looking, listening, observing, carefully. The relationship between Ash and Dex is the core of the experience.- 1–1:30 hours of single-player narrative
- Fully voice-acted dialogue between two central characters
- 14 distinct memory environments, each with its own mechanics, drawing in 3D space, rolling dice against a dragon, raking a zen garden, waiting at a table that won't be filled
- A diegetic UI overlay that tells you things the dialogue won't
- Branching dialogue that shapes the tone of your relationship with Dex
- One ending. The kind you carry with you.
Memories are what makes you, you.
By the end, you will understand what happened to you, and what is still happening, and what has been happening for longer than you knew. This is a quiet game. It is not a horror game in the way that word is usually used. But it is, in its own way, the most unsettling thing we know how to make. What Steam players say

An absolute existential experience. If you let yourself deeply empathize with it, the game pushes you right to the edge—enough to make you want to apply to Helix. I look forward to seeing more deeply meaningful stories from this team.6 found this helpful
For a first game, 808 is really impressive. I went in not knowing exactly what to expect, but the story pulled me in pretty quickly. The different memory areas were interesting to explore. What stood out to me the most was the writing. Some lines hit surprisingly hard, especially the ones about grief, regret, and trying to understand what happened to you. I also think the world has a lot of potential. Helix Industries is such an interesting concept, and it made me wonder what other patients went through and what their stories would look like. I would honestly love to see more games or stories set in this universe. Overall, I really enjoyed it. It is short, emotional, atmospheric, and very well made for a first project. Definitely looking forward to what the developers do next!5 found this helpful

This is a narrative focused game with a genuinely interesting, mind bending story. With its excellent level desing and atmosphere building, it manages to deliver a deep psychological experience in a short but memorable way. Having around 1 to 1.5 hours of content, its perfect for a slow-paced single-sitting playthrough, almost like experiencing an interactive movie. 10/104 found this helpful

i really wanted this game to work but it crashed on me i was in the beginning walking on a platform then all of a sudden i went up the stairs and was able to walk in mid air then i fell into the void i tried restarting the game but it kept starting me at that point with the narator talking which let me tell you was such a game killer to have to deal with.
