Memento Mori (2024)

"Memento Mori" is no Dear Elise, although it's trying so hard to be and failing. This is a laughably poor walking sim, not to be confused with the popular mobile app of the same name, this is an entirely different disaster. This tries to be "more art than game", and fails hard at being either. It's just a linear "narrative experience" where you walk along and get thumped over the head by the developer trying to be pretentious. The game is quite short, and can be run through in just 10 minutes. The lack of content here makes it hard to suggest it's worth spending the time to add to your library and download. It says a lot when the best part about a product is there's not much of it. In terms of visuals, this features fairly low quality low poly 3D graphics which will deter a lot of gamers, understandably. Gaming is a visual medium, and while some developers struggle with creating high quality visuals, failing to do so is a disservice to gamers. It's very difficult to recommend bad looking games. This game's really nice. But, i havent gotten to finish it! Theres some kind of bug i can't get around. As soon as i get in the elevator, i get booted into an abyss. I'm pretty sure it's supposed to be a hallway scene. the graphics also look different from the pictures, so I don't know if it's because I have a ♥♥♥♥♥♥ computer or if theres an actual bug. But otherwise, i reccomend!

A beautiful game with beautiful graphics

Don't really know why this is in my library but considering that it is free it was a nice enough 15-minute walking simulator with some artistic merit and a story it successfully tells without using any words.
