9-nine- Episode 2 is the second volume in a series of supernatural mystery games, with Episode 2 telling a story centered around Sora Niimi. The entries in the the 9-nine- series share the same setting and world, but each entry focuses on a different heroine. 9-nine- is a tale of the town of Shiromitsugawa, host to mysterious Artifacts and the superpowers they bestow on their Users. A tale of a brother and sister with a close bond, and also a murder mystery where they hunt down the culprit behind a series of supernatural murders. The many-worlds interpretation posits that every random motion produces a novel branching universe. A butterfly flapping its wings rarely means a hurricane across the world, and human choices are no exception—our little everyday choices rarely bring about earth-shattering changes. But for Kakeru Niimi, one of those little decisions is about to make a big difference.
One night, Kakeru's cheeky little sister Sora asks him to let her stay the night. And from the seemingly inconsequential moment when he caves in and says yes, a new story is born, a hurricane which will upturn both their lives.
The cadre of evil users, Rig Vega. The noble crew that opposes them, the Valhalla Society. In 9-nine-: Episode 2, these two forces will collide, striking new sparks and shattering preconceived notions. Can Kakeru and Sora put an end to this unveiled threat before it destroys them both?

This may be the most solid entry in the series considering the story of this episode as its own thing. In terms of plot, it's where the overarching story really gets going. While not all mysteries are resolved in this game, the conclusion for this part feels very satisfying, it feels like you've resolved things as far as the individual story for this part goes. The charcater that this game focuses on also has the best arc out of the four I would say. I was very interested in the direction it went in. It's very solid all the way through, both the plot and the characters are great here. If you were doubtful after the first game, this one is a big step up. The first game is more of an introduction while this one is where everything really gets started. And it's impressively good as a stand-alone story even within the bigger story it starts setting up.1 found this helpful
The second episode of the 9-nine- series is one where I have mixed feelings about, and may be the hardest to talk about. In terms of pacing, it's easily the slowest. Despite taking about 14 hours, not much actually happens, and things kinda just drag out. In terms of the mystery, you hardly learn anything new- that'll have to wait until the next episode. But there's one thing this episode does well, and that's building tension. Despite the next two episodes technically having higher stakes, it often doesn't feel that way. A lot of those moments can feel forced, fake, and/or anti-climactic. In terms of building up a "this situation feels hopeless, how are we going to get out of this mess" feeling, the second episode feels the most genuine. As a result, it has some of the most memorable moments in the entire series.1 found this helpful
The story won’t blow your mind, but it has its moments. The OST is great—the ED is my personal favorite, though the OP is really good too. Sora and Kakeru have an amusing, natural chemistry, and the voice acting makes it even better. Trust me, Sora is best girl. 9-Nine has been such a treat to read and episode two did its job in keeping up the quality that episode one left off with. The music in particular was really well done and Soranokioku (op) has taken its spot as my current favourite song. I hope others enjoy this game and join the paper bag club!
why in the world is palette so good at writing compelling routes with incest.... sigh... probably the one I enjoyed the most because Sora is so over the top. The H scenes were some of the hardest I laughed in the whole series.
The story gets confusing sometimes, it's better than episode 2 tho. I like the soundtracks and the chemistry between Sora and Kakeru.. quite chaotic ngl.
