About A Slug's Dream

A Slug’s Dream is a challenging yet accessible puzzle game about guiding an adorable slug dreaming about scrumptious flowers after skipping dinner through increasingly complex puzzles.

Thoughts for Food

Find your way across carefully handcrafted and dream-like puzzle levels designed to melt your brain with various mechanics and hindrances.
The goal of each puzzle is to eat all the flowers, and then reach for the exit.

Every day is a Sluggle

It’s not easy being "hangry" when you’re just a little gastropod having to deal with warping portals, different types of blocks, life-threatening elements and more.

Living that slug life

You're a slug, and that makes you very cool.

Wonderful, wonderful puzzle game. Each mechanic combines in such interesting ways that make you just want to keep playing so you can see even more interesting stuff happen. Unlike Baba Is You and Patrick's Parabox, though, the mechanics never combine into these monstrously complex affairs that feel like they only apply to one level. Instead, each level is kind of like a playground, and I mean that in the best way possible. They give you enough room to experiment with all the mechanics, to find the limits of the possibility space in the level (rather than guiding you down a linear path), before letting you decide how to make your way forward. It's a very satisfying process and it engaged me the whole way through. The puzzles themselves aren't too difficult, certainly easier than Stephen's Sausage Roll and Snakebird, and admittedly some feel they could be removed. But that's likely just because of the ability to pick any puzzle from the very start; I solved some very difficult puzzles before getting to the easy "tutorial" ones. Overall, could not recommend this game enough for puzzle lovers. I enjoyed my 5 hours of dreaming, and look forward to more games from this developer.

This game seems to have a lot of what drew me in to Stephen's Sausage Roll. While the mechanics and controls are simple, there is little guidance and the levels are designed in such a way that you sort of have to "discover" how everything interacts which leads you to try new things and at times stop and think it through, maybe even take a little break and come back later. I personally find the graphics design charming.

An absolute thrill to play. If you're used to 3D sokoban puzzlers, you'll fit right in. You control a two-tile worm that can climb walls, push boxes with its head, and flip them with its tail. There's also portals that allow you to manipulate blocks. The levels are tough, but fair, and there's almost a sandbox-like quality in that some levels have multiple solutions, all relying on whether you've acclimated to the mechanics. Maybe could have used a little more play-testing as a couple of the later levels were cheesed with simplicity (perhaps intended?). The difficulty is all over the map, like a game of duck, duck, goose. But the end result is a very competent, satisfying puzzle game with over 60 levels to tickle your noggin.
