About A Terrible Place
Embark on a thrilling VR adventure as a member of a special forces team sent to a mysterious island in search of survivors after a military aircraft goes down. But as you soon as you land you discover the island is home to a native population that practices forms of witchcraft and demonic rituals, and no outsider has ever been allowed on the island. Experience intense combat as you battle against hordes of hostile enemies, as what starts as a rescue mission turns into an escape for survival.
Campaign
Play as Sgt. Kimball and experience the journey first hand.
- 3 game difficulties.
- 9 missions
- 2 Boss fights / 8 different enemy types
50 Days
Starting off with just a bow, survive for 50 days in an increasingly difficult zone and try to earn yourself a top spot on the leaderboard. Your choice in upgrades matters, choose strategically. The game starts at a slow pace but will drastically increase in difficulty, use this time for scouting and looting. Enemies will increase in damage, speed and health every 5 days. New enemy types will start showing up after certain day milestones as well as a mini boss every 10 days. Death is permanent!
New crates will spawn each morning randomly all around the map, increasing in number as new areas are unlocked around the map.
Loot crates for weapon/player talent points, gun parts and ammo.

Point system based on kills/boss bonuses for ranked leaderboard
Plan accordingly through day and night cycles as this changes the aggressiveness of all enemies and can bring out some nocturnal ones!
Experienced on the Meta Quest 2
You can view my initial impressions review & gameplay here: https://youtu.be/JrTUD2ulXDg No, I don't think this is a good game. So why am I giving this a thumbs up review? Well, that's because Steam only lets you go up or down and not sideways. I'd give this a neutral recommendation if I could instead. Unfortunately, I think the average quality Steam PCVR shooter is bad. This game is slightly better than that. Hence, the reason for the thumbs up instead of thumbs down. This game basically has two different game modes: campaign & survival. The campaign is mostly just a narrative-driven, on-rails, zombie wave shooter. The wave shooting is bad. The lighting is bad. The lighting makes the game's visuals look worse than what they actually are. Simple reload mechanic. Gun mechanics are just barely passable. However, the game's narrative is pretty good for this price point. The sound quality could have been better, but the VOs are a nice touch that keep you immersed in the story & give you context for all the shooting action. I enjoyed it a lot more than the shooting & the story made the shooting experience better. It's a well-paced game. There…10 found this helpful
I play-tested this game and it was fun. The developer has since made a lot of improvements and additions to the game. I especially liked the bigger and unique enemies. There is a story mode and a 50 day survival mode where the enemies get tougher as each day passes. Check out the play-test stream here: https://youtube.com/live/s6m-fpUSpM84 found this helpful
This feels like an early, early release. I've not played long but there are some immediate concerns. -the environment is too big for the player. it's almost as if from the perspective of a very small child -the footstep audio is paced oddly, as if I am giant taking super slow steps. it doesn't match up with any type of normal walking gait -there doesn't appear to be a run feature. in such a big environment, running is critical. this is a big fail. -it seems there is no magazine interactions with the firearms, at least in the tutorial. am I right to assume that "cocking the slide" is considered a full reload? one of the most enjoyable parts of VR gun reloads is dropping empty clips and slammin' fresh ones in. -the bow suffers from similar issue. take your bow out with your left hand, click, your hand turns into an arrow (why can't I see my hand drawing the arrow back? immersion killer) when nocking it. Weapons feel so "blah" when they're designed this way in a VR environment. -i'm definitely not sure about the game loop and what it's supposed to be. It's feels like a moving wave shooter. i do know that it is not fun. I own a plethora of VR games and love the industry. I will say I…2 found this helpful
