Aarklash: Legacy is a solid yet underrated tactical RPG with a strong focus on strategy and party management. The combat can feel difficult at first, but once the systems click, battles become really satisfying thanks to the amount of teamwork and ability synergy involved. The story and presentation are fairly average, but if you enjoy challenging tactical combat and don’t mind some AA-game roughness, it’s definitely worth checking out.2 found this helpful
Ohhh boy. I fell for it because I love the Confrontation liscence, and used to be a Rakham fanboy in my teens. But this game does not give the setting justice. Gameplay is uninspired and repetitive, graphics are passable at best. THere is better stuff out there to sink some hours into.2 found this helpful
Archaic, too zoomed in view, no hotbar for abilities so that you don't need to switch between characters to use abilities, a equipment system so shallow it feels redundant and other problems that just makes it clunky to play.1 found this helpful
I really tried to like this game and I gave a chance to it, but this game not for me. I think the battle system is too slow.1 found this helpful
It is just 'okay' and unfortunately there are many games out there that do the combat better, the story better, or both. The combat is not deep or engaging enough, despite drawing from a somewhat-popular tabletop game. Character abilities are limited and progress feels slow. The story is also lacking and not rich on details about the setting that inspired it, maybe because the source material is focused more on the turn-based combat portion than lore or worldbuilding. The end result just doesn't inspire any daydreaming about the game, but it would nice to see another attempt at this setting with some stronger story beats and more options with the pre-established characters.
