Accubow VR is a great concept, and the delivery is hot garbage. In addition to the 200.00 bow that is not capable of offering let-off like a compound would (making it a pretty unrealistic experience even for training purposes) the VR experience has a subscription (which they price in a way that the lifetime sounds like it makes sense on paper but is immediately filled with regret). The team that built the “game” likely has no practical VR experience as they even start off with some hyper-drive space thing that follows your vision around in an attempt to make users motion sick before the logo even shows up, the in-game bow is wildly disproportionate to what you’re holding, the string clumsily smacks the volume buttons on the Quest 3 headset. Overall I love the idea but it just isn’t a good fit. Buyers beware.8 found this helpful
They want way too much for a plastic bow and membership, for a 3GB game with smart phone/mobile gaming graphics. The bow is 70 dollars more than I paid for the entire Quest 2 system. The membership is not worth it, at all. In their wildest dreams. Pure MBA thinking with zero real world knowledge of customers. "Let's monetize it beyond our overpriced bow by charging an arm and a leg yearly." You're copying the Adobe business model without Adobe quality. I immediately took a screenshot, sent it to my hunting buddies and said I could buy a used recurve bow for that much and go take a real deer with it. Everyone laughed and mocked it, as they should. That's ridiculous.6 found this helpful
You need special hardware.
The controls are clunky, shooting feels unnatural, and the tracking is often glitchy.
