After School Afterlife

This game is [b]exactly what indie gaming is all about[/b]. It's a completely unique passion project where they absolutely nailed a fresh mix of exploration, comedy, platforming, and minigames. Sure it has its quirks, but you can just [b]feel[/b] the heart poured into it. I was smiling for pretty much my entire playthrough. The feeling brings back to the days of getting home from school, trying random flash games, and then finding an absolute gem unlike anything I had ever played before. [i] Full disclosure: I know the devs and was involved in a very early version of this project. That being said, the final game blew me away regardless of any prior connection I had to it. So please trust my praise here as real. [/i] [h3] Content [/h3] I'd love to list off every moment of the game that stood out to me but that would (1) make the review endless and (2) spoil like 90% of the fun. It's the kind of game you really just have to experience for yourself. So here goes my best attempt at a spoiler-free review. The game has tons of details and, for the price, a really respectable amount of content. For completionists, there are tons of things to discover and little details to interact with…

I literally have never written a Steam review before, but wanted to for this one. Was recommended it on a whim and grabbed it sight unseen. One of my favorite games to come out this year. So much charm, humor, and awesome cultural knowledge packed into a fun little rhythm/puzzle platformer. Short sweet, can’t recommend it enough!

Disclaimer: This game was made by friends of mine and I got my copy for free. I also worked on the original prototype and drew the original concept art for noodles (Hooray for programmer art) It is a really enjoyable game. The platforming feels nice, the music is great and the dialogue is witty and fun. I enjoyed all the story lines and completed all the achievements (although I needed a bit of help with 2 things). The game has moments where the platforming is a bit tight and challenging (and I am not great with platformers) but nothing crazy. The minigames and variety is a lot of fun and I enjoyed my time a lot. Thank you. Definitely recommend.

I love the whole story and feel of the game. Overall I really enjoyed it and found it to be nice and mellow and just super cozy. The only feedback is the mini games/platformers I felt were very uneven in difficulty. Some of them are super easy and doable and then there are a few that made me want to rage quit a few times (the mahjong dodging and stacking game in specific) even then I really really enjoyed it and I was so impressed by the detail and art and expansiveness of the whole world. 9/10!
