About Ages of Cataria
Ages of Cataria is a cozy story generation game. Every story begins with a family embarking and then settling on a new land called "Cataria". Here, the villagers will have to build out their comforts and find their roles in this new society.
Over time, others will join your settlement, and some will find love and start new families around town. Experience these generational stories as your villagers age over time. Villagers will age before your eyes. In their lifetimes, they will leave a lasting mark on the village by forming meaningful relationships, experiencing life-changing events, and contributing their unique skills. See their children grow and leave their own unique mark on the town.
Build out your town, fulfilling your town’s needs for shelter, food, and resources. As your town grows, so will its desires. Decorate your town to enhance its appearance, and villagers may start to take notice as well.
Every so often, villagers will encounter events around the village. These will pop up around the map and happen randomly, giving the villager a chance to experience a unique event. These events can be as small as finding a unique insect and as impactful as marriage.
Death is part of telling a generational story. Everyone’s story eventually ends, and in Cataria, that is no different. Once a villager passes, their spirit will enter your town's spirit tree, which will grow with your town as more spirits pass away. This provides your villagers with a place to gather, remember their ancestors, and offer gifts to the afterlife.

I rarely return anything but this one I had to I tried to get into it but it’s just so boring and repeated events are annoying idk how many times I’d replay the same romantic scenario like just no I can’t recommend this right now. This game is very much at the early stage of early access, and it certainly had a bumpy release, but it's come on a long way since. It is still light on features currently, but it's a fun and peaceful little village builder so far and the devs have been really responsive to bug reports and suggestions. It's very good if you're looking for something slow paced and low stress. The art style and differing seasons are really nice, and I really like the interactions between the villagers. Looking forward to more varying interactions and buildings being added. I don't recommend if you're not interested in seeing a game develop and are looking for something a little more full and polished, but if you're a fan of early access and seeing a game evolve then I would.5 found this helpful
Although it still needs a lot of development, I am enjoying my time with this game. The developers are very actively working on this game with fixes and features being rolled out often. It doesn't have a ton of content so it currently isn't a game one can currently sink too much meaningful time into, but it has good structure that will keep me coming back to it many more times.2 found this helpful
I knew about this game before the kickstarter, signed up for the kickstarter 5 years ago and forgot about it until I got my key by email, it was nice to see some of the features the devs were discussing implemented and the graphics look amazing.1 found this helpful
This game is so beautiful and fun! I love it!
This game is soo aesthetically pleasing! I love it and the sound and music really increase my experience and has me just vibing out with my villagers. The task list is a little confusing at first, but I appreciate the depth of the simulation. It's not just a resource management game, the workers also have relationships and pets and stories in their lives. Really sweet little game. It has a lot of potential, and the devs seem to take all of the suggestions and feedback to heart. I'm excited to see how it will continue to grow! And did you all see that weather conditions are being added this week...continues to blow my mind! I'm a fan :)
