ALAN-13 Reformation:
ALAN-13 Reformation first and foremost is a fun puzzle game, which puts your logical thinking skills to the test. You have to solve various challenges by wiring an autonomous robot: ALAN-13. While doing so, you gradually learn how to think like a programmer (without writing any code) and get familiar with some of the fundamental tools of programming. You can view it as step 0 to become a software developer, if you are interested in that sort of things. If not, just enjoy the ride!
Your task:
In 2177 (30 years after the initial launch of the first units) the terraformation of planet Venus was right on track. Then, for yet undiscovered reasons the sun started expressing unusual behavior with regular solar flares and massive CMEs on a scale we never experienced before. These effects essentially destroyed our electrical infrastructure on the surface, and the lingering disturbance in the electromagnetic field makes regular means of communication unreliable. To conquer these challenges and to restore the infrastructure, our mechanical engineers updated our general purpose robot (ALAN series) with heavy shielding and additional hardware that we may require.
Your task (as our only engineer on location with background in automation) is to make these units fully autonomous and self-sustaining because remote communication is not guaranteed at any point. For this task, you can build the microcontroller for ALAN-13 by using our tried and tested GENESIS™ components. Furthermore, you have to equip the robot with the right set of peripherals for any given mission.
Linux compatibility:
Officially we support Windows only as of now, but reportedly the game works with Proton if the compatibility feature is turned on in the in-game options menu.

I promised a review when the guy posted on a social media site with giving away keys to people that are tight on money. So I appreciate that, and he said he was a man of his word, and so I want to return that favour, because I respect that stance. I really like the puzzle aspect of this game, it's a different way of solving puzzles than your generic puzzles. But the one thing that makes it hard for me to keep going is that there isn't anything to teach me how to think the way the game wants me to think. I keep getting stuck not having enough parts for the solutions I can think of, and I get the feeling it wants me to conceptualize deep multiple levels of 'factoring' before laying anything down and with ADD that's just too hard.3 found this helpful
It’s a fun puzzle game centered around "coding," but as you progress you start to notice the flaws in the interface, and how unfriendly this game is; there’s no autosave; and if it crashes you risk losing all the progress from that session. I experienced this firsthand and had to redo two levels after a crash. As the levels grow more complex, you may want to organize things by naming certain objects, but doing so can break a unrelated loop in another part of the curcit.2 found this helpful
A charming and challenging game so far (lvl 15). A bit more explanation of how the various components work would have helped, but so far I've been able to "learn by doing".
I bought this game, because the author moaned on 9gag that he is broke. I don't regret not only because op got to eat something, but the game is actually nice and I played it until 5 AM last night. Well done, viktorhoz
