An Alice-inspired game that takes you into a Fey realm where you complete a series of tasks for the villagers in order to return home. The game was short and simple. It's a free game so there are some gameplay issues. If you're an Alice fan, I recommend it mostly for the Alice experience.

"Alice Through the Fey Realm" is just another student project dumped onto the Steam store, one of thousands. It's from Breda University of Applied Sciece. Student projects might look better than amateur shovelware, but they aren't real games. This is just a glorified homework assignment. It lacks the depth and value you get from professionally developed product because it was made for a grade, not for players. The game features basic running around, talking to NPCs (a lot), and rolling dice as a minigame to complete game challenges as they come up. The dice rolling minigame doesn't work cleanly with the rest of the experience. But that's the least of the problems here. Schools shouldn't be using Steam to show off student projects. It might be fine for the school's marketing, but it clutters the Steam store with pollution... we have to sort past all these short student tech demos just so we can find real, full games from professional developers. This is a case of a game dev college putting its own interests before the interests of gamers. [h3]Kids game[/h3] Written by a bunch of talented uni students, this free game is a nod to Alice in Wonderland, if you are a Lewis Carol fan, then it might tickle your funny bone. It's otherwise a very simple and short point click puzzle game. The single unique thing it does have going is a dice game in the game which is pretty good, if not for that the entire story is quite short. I think the game has a good concept, but it's not as much fun to play. I think this is good for a free game, but it leaves some things to be desired in terms of movement (not great for WASD but worked better as point and click) and I'm not sure if I finished the game or not because the game just stopped working after I did the last task. Re-loading the game made it so I could move but could not interact with anyone. Would be cool to see a more fully-fledged game that expands on this one in the future, since I like how there are a few ways to approach things in the game. The dice mechanic is interesting, but not my favorite for a game this short, so it would be interesting to see it in a larger game. I also love the characters and the world that is going on.
